brochure는 booklet보다 더 규모가 작은 책자를 의미
불어의 '꿰메다'에서 왔음, 즉 낱장을 여러개로 꿰메
어서 작은 책자로 만든것을 의미
종교적인 전도지 brochure를 tract라고 합니다.
pamphlet는 역시 소책자를 의미하며, 12세기경 연
애하는 방법에 관한 시의 제목에서 유래되었음.
이말은 'Beloved by all'라는 뜻을 가지고 있음
pamphlet과 brochure는 뜻이 크게 차이 없이 혼용되어
서 사용된다고 합니다.

◆ friend, comrade, companion, pal, associate
friend는 본래 서로 알며 친근한 사이인 사람에게 쓰입니다. buddy와도 종종 혼용됩니다.
He is a friend of mine : 그는 내 친구다.
comrade는 학우처럼 개개인에 의한 선택에 의하지 않은 친구이지만, companion보다는 친밀함이 강합니다.
Many of his comrades were killed in the battle : 많은 전우들이 전사했다.
companion은 주로 동행하는 사람을 가리키나 우정의 뜻은 별로 포함되어 있지 않습니다.
Pelle now looks up his old friends, especially an old companion from Bornholm named Morten.
펠레는 옛 친구들을 찾아 나서는데 특히 모튼이라는 본호름 시절의 친구를 만난다.
pal은 친구의 속어입니다.
I have a pen pal : 내게 펜팔이 있다.
associate는 일로 인해 서로 맺어진 관계를 말합니다.
I will be there with a business associate who will also act as my interpreter.
(플로리다에는 동료와 함께 머물 예정인데 그가 통역도 맡아 해줄 것입니다.)
