``The ministries pledge to go through a set of Oriental medicine
initiatives unveiled Aug. 30,'' Minister Ahn said. They include a
bid to upgrade the present division in charge of overseeing
Oriental medicine-related policies at the Ministry of Health and
Welfare, he noted.
안병영 교육부장관은 "교육부와 복지부는 지난달 30일 발표한 한의학
발전계획을 추진해나가겠다"고 밝히고 "복지부 내에 설치돼 한의약
정책을 전담할 조직도 충분한 기능을 갖추도록 하겠다"고 말했다.
``The statement contains nothing new, falling far short of our
expectations,'' said Kim Hyo-jin, who heads the coalition of
Oriental medicine students. ``It sidelined our demands that the
state-run license test in May, which allows some 20,000
pharmacists to practice Oriental herbal medicine, be revoked as
well as that the government come up with a substantial package in
favor of the Oriental medicine community to fend off a recurrence
of student protests.''
전국 한의과대학 학생회연합 의장 김효진군은
정부의 성명에 대해
"우리의 기대와는 동떨어진 새로운 것이 전혀 없는 내용"이라면서 "2
만여명에 이르는 양약사들에게 한약 조재 자격을 인정해주는 한약조재
시험을 무효화하고 한의대생들이 다시는 시위를 하지 않도록 정부측에
서 실질적인 한의학 육성방안을 제시해달라는 우리의 요구를 묵살했
다"고 말했다.
There are a total of 4,573 Oriental medicine majors in 11
universities across the country, of whom 1,853 or 40 percent
completed registration as of noon yesterday.
한의학과에 재학중인 학생수는 전국 11개 대학 4천5백73명이며 16일
정오 현재 이중 40%인 1천8백53명만이 등록을 마친 것으로 알려졌다.
``The council has conducted an extensive assessment on 31
schools of medicine, 10 dental colleges and nine schools of
Oriental herbal medicine,'' said the council which represents 164
educational institutes of higher learning across the country.
전국 164개 대학들의 협의체인 한국대학교육협의회는 "전국 31개대
의학과, 10개 치의학과, 9개대 한의학과에 대한 종합평가를 실시했다"
고 밝혔다.
이 밖에도 군보건소에서 추진하고 있는 구강건강관리, 아토피, 한의학, 치매, 정신보건사업에 대한 내용을 안내했다.
Besides, information on oral health management, atopy, oriental medicine, dementia, and mental health projects promoted by the district health centers was also provided.
