Firm Measures For Labor's Return
노사문제 정면대응해야
The Korean Confederation of Trade Union(KCTU) has withdrawn from the
Tripartite Committee, comprised of labor, management and government
sectors.
The worry became a reality and even more concerning is that the other large
union organization, the Federation of Korean Trade Union (FKTU), is
preparing to back out this week, as well.
After only 13 months have expired since its creation, the Committee is in
danger of extinction. It will almost certainly cause additional instability in the
labor market.
민주노총의 노사정 (勞使政) 위원회 탈퇴로 우려하던 상황이 결국 현실로
나타나고 말았다.
한국노총도 26일 대의원대회를 열고 노사정위 조건부 탈퇴를 선언할
움직임이어서 노사정위는 출범 13개월만에 좌초 위기에 빠지고 대립과 갈등의
소모적인 노사관계가 재현될 가능성이 커졌다.
Labor's side is demanding the end of one-sided layoffs and restructuring. If this
is not done, it threatens to withdraw completely from the committee.
The government, however, is busy seducing labor with concessions while
management in the business sector is warning the government not to promise
anything that companies can not fulfill.
민주노총과 한국노총은 일방적인 구조조정과 정리해고 철회 등을 요구하며
이번주중 각기 노사정위 탈퇴를 공언하고 있고, 정부는 이를 막기 위한 노동계
달래기에만 안간힘을 쏟고 있다.
사용자측인 재계 또한 노사문제에 정치권이 개입하지 말 것을 주문하며 대응책
마련에 부산하다.
앞서 지난달 민주노총, 한국노총, 한국경영자총협회, 중소기업중앙회 등 가입자 단체들은 정부가 건강보험 국고보조금은 제대로 내지 않으면서 건강보험료율만 올리려 한다며 내년도 건강보험료율 결정 논의를 거부한 바 있다.
Earlier, member organizations such as the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Korean Federation of Trade Unions, the Federation of Korean Employers, and the Federation of Small and Medium Businesses refused to discuss next year's health insurance premium rate, saying the government is only trying to raise the health insurance premium rate without paying state subsidies properly last month.
