The principal of a school I was working for at the YMCA said,
you know, "I need a substitute teacher, will you come and do this job?" And I said, "Sure."
And then after I got in the class she said, "Oh, by the way, it's a classroom for children with autism."

T : Now, we are going to play "Word Game'.
I'll divide the class into two teams. This is team A. And this is team B. Does everyone know which team they are on?
Ss : Okay.
T : Then I'll explain how to play the game.
Please pay attention and listen carefully.
First, ...
S1 : Give us an example, please.
T : All right.

T : Chul-su took the first place at the English Speech Contest.
His winning is an honor not only to him but also to our class. Let's give him a big hand.
S1 : Thank you very much.
T : His pronunciation was good. He spoke English fluently as well.
S2 : I heard his brother passed the entrance exam for Seoul National University this year.
T : Really? Congratulations to your brother for passing the exam.
Ss : Thank you.

What grade did you get in English?
I'm happy that I'm not at the bottom of the class.
Who is the top student of the class?

I got a perfect grade in history.
Chang-ho got straight A's in this exam.
Cramming is not a good way of studying English.

T : I'm going to give each of you your report cards for the mid-term examination.
S1 : Nam-su, you look very happy. Are you the top student of the class?
S2 : Not really. But I got a perfect score in history.
S1 : Sounds great. Then who is the top student?
S2 : Chang-ho is. He got straight A's in all his subjects.
S1 : Wow, that's amazing. By the way, what score did you get in math?
S2 : My score is terrible. Math is my worst subject.

A groan went through the class when we got the disquieting news that there would be a full-period test later in the week.

Arline told me she "passed,"but that's an understatement. The fact is that she got the highest mark in the class.

I think it was very inconsiderate of Lucille to wait until this late date before she apprised Mrs. Denner of her intention to quit the class show.

Your script has some excellent ideas, but it will need extensive revision if it is to be used as the class play.

My literature class was talking about the implications of a scientist's statement
that a free fish can only see the struggles of a hooked fish but cannot know why it twists violent.
Noticing one student of the class wasn't paying attention, I asked him what he thought about that statement.
Without hesitation, he replied:
"Who cares what the free fish thinks?
I want to know what kind of lure was used to catch the hooked one."

At one time, homeschooling was used for students who could not attend school because of learning difficulties.
Today, however, more parents are taking on the responsibility of educating their children at home due to dissatisfaction with the educational system.
Many parents are unhappy about class size.
In many schools, one teacher is responsible for thirty or forty students.
The result is often that children are deprived of the attention they need.
Increasing classroom violence has also motivated some parents to remove their children from school.

In American classrooms, the participation of students is not only accepted but also expected in most subjects.
Some teachers base students' grades on how eagerly they take part in the classes.
Courses are often organized around classroom discussions, student questions, and informal lectures.
In some courses, the American teachers are only advisors and the students do the actual teaching through discussions and presentations.
It is common for teachers to guide students to take responsibility for their learning.
And students who do not ask questions and do not give their own ideas may appear to be uninterested in the courses.

Being the “brightest” member of my third grade class, I was asked to recite a rather lengthy poem for a school event.
My initial response to the task was “No big deal,” and I jumped at the opportunity to be in the spotlight yet again.
I casually practiced my presentation at home.
The day came.
I began to recite the poem, but I suddenly lost my memory and could say only two lines before I dried up.
My face became red with embarrassment as the audience giggled quietly and my teacher secretly fed me my lines.

Last night there was a long and detailed personal message on my machine from a teacher explaining why "David" had been transferred to her class.
There were some comments about his unacceptable behavior and a request that I call the school to discuss the problem.
The caller did not mention the name of the school and there was no number, so I was unable to let her know that she had reached the wrong person.
When that mother does not return the call, the teacher will assume she is not interested, which will be a black mark against her.

Some people think that the best time to begin studying a foreign language is in childhood, and that the younger you are, the easier it is to learn another language.
There is little evidence, however, that children in language classrooms learn foreign languages any better than adults (people over age 15) in similar classroom situations.
In fact, adults have many advantages over children: better memories, more efficient ways of organizing information, better study habits, and greater ability to handle complex mental tasks.
In addition, adults are often better motivated than children: they see learning a foreign language as necessary for education or career.

When my son started school last year, he came home one day quite perplexed.
"Mom," he said, "my teacher says I'm in the class of 2000. Is that true?"
I replied that it was.
After a moment's pause he continued.
"Well, I've been counting and counting and I just don't think there are that many kids in my class."

He is taller than any other boy in his class.

She is ahead of all the girls in her class in English.

When I was nine, Kathy was in my class. She was always clean, smart, and
popular. I went to school mostly to see her. Every morning. I brushed my
hair. Every night I washed the only clothes I had. In winter I often got
sick because in the morning I had to wear them, wet or dry. Everybody has
a Kathy, a symbol of everything you want. When I played the drums in high
school and when I broke race records in college, it was for kathy. Now
when I hear a cheer from the audience after I sing. I wish Kathy could
hear it, too.

Until now, parents of five-year-olds attending private kindergartens in Chungcheongnam-do have been paying the rest of the total education expenses, except for the tuition fees for infants and classes supported by the government's Nuri Program, and the teaching aids provided by the Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education.

However, he/she advised, "COVID-19 cannot be ended like MERS, so we have to prepare for the long-term battle," saying, "When school starts, we must plan ahead so that the spread between classes and grades does not occur."

Specifically, Chairman Oh pointed out that after the start of school, a policy to prevent spreading should be established at the class, grade, or school level.
