Students in harambee schools are aware that they are not getting as good an education as those who attend more expensive schools.
Only two harambee students in 1,000 will attend a university.
Why then do so many students continue to flock to harambee schools?
They point out that if they did not go, they would have no chance at all of going to college.
They enthusiastically tell visitors, “Yes, the chances are slim, but I think that I can succeed.”

usually become most stable and highly motivated. His learning retention frequently
remains lower than that if his later-starting peers, regardless of how bright he is. In
other words, it is hard to escape the conclusion that early schooling is little short
of crippling.
학교에 다니는 아주 어린 아이들을 연구한 사람들이 하나의 무서운 양상을,

The future will be a lonely place to live because of computers. We won't
be going to the supermarket, or even to school any more. Everyday goods
and even education will come to us on-line. Nevertheless, we will talk
with one another using the computer. All of these will make us less
human, in that the computer will take away our opportunities to meet for
true human relationships.

☞ 찰스와 마가렛은 한나가 학교에서 학예 발표회를 하는 곳으로 아이
제야를 데리고 간다. 하지만 한나는 공연할 때 아이제야가 시끄럽게
떠들고 소리지르는 것이 다른 사람들에게 방해가 되자 마가렛이 아이
제야를 다시 데리고 나간다. 한나는 아이제야 때문에 마가렛이 자신의
공연을 제대로 보지 못한것에 대해 화를 낸다....
