「연구개발」은 research and development, R & D로 생략하는
것은 상식인데, 하나의 개념으로 해서 영어에서는 단수로
취급합니다. ex. R & D is essential to the company's success.
동사인 involve는 한국어로 번역하기 어려운 단어 중 하나인데,
「~에 종사하고 있다, ~에 들어있다, ~에 관계하고 있다」의
의미로 사용합니다. 「강조하다, 힘을 쏟다」는 to place (lay,
put) a big (special, particular) emphasis입니다.

연구개발은 어느 회사에 있어서도 규모의 대·소를 가릴 것 없이
무척 힘을 쏟는 분야인데 외국에서 온 visitors에 있어서는 어느
정도의 인원이 어떤 문제를 다루고 있는가, 지금 관심의 목표는
