accordingly는 「(사정에 따라) 적당하게, 그에 적절하게」란 뜻의 부사이다.

「따라서, 그러므로」의 뜻에서는 접속부사이다. 이 경우 그 앞에 세미콜론(;)을 둔다.

시작하는 것도 누구나 아는 사실이다. 그러나 여자의 경우
기혼자인지 미혼자인지 확실하지 않을 때는 Ms.(미즈) Lee과
같이 쓰면 된다. Ms. 는 처녀나 아주머니나 할머니 모든 여성에게
다 통하는 경칭이다. Madam은 미혼,기혼에 관계없이 모든 연령의
여성에 다 통용되는 호칭이다. Madam의 복수는 Mesdames이다.
그런데 회사나 단체를 상대로 편지를 쓸 때는 상대방이 어떤
특정인물이 아닐 때가 많다. 이럴 때는 Gentlemen이라고 쓰면 된다.
Gentleman앞에는 절대로 Dear를 붙여 Dear를 붙여 Dear Gentlemen이라고
하지 않는다.

* litter가 쓰레기이고 bug는 벌레이므로 litterbug는

이 말은 제 2차 세계대전 때 남자를 전쟁터에 보낸 여자들이

서 유래한 말입니다. 그 편지의 서두가 보통 "Dear John (사
랑하는 John 에게) ...."라고 시작되었기 때문이며 John 은
우리나라의 '철수'처럼 흔한 이름이기 때문에 쓰인 것입니다.
cf) 우리말의 경우 사람 이름이 정확하지 않을 때 '김 아무개
, 이 아무개'라고 하는데, 영어에서는 남자의 경우에는 '

진행중의 동작이므로 I write 가 아니라 I am writing.

(참고) '쓴다'고 하면 대개 편지를 말하므로 letter는
흔히 생략됩니다.

'그러면 안녕히 안녕히 계십시오'라는 표현으로 Have a good
blessed.라고 썼는데 이는 틀린 것으로 지적. 영어에서는 Bye,
I'll See you later.이라고 한다.
또한 편지를 마감하는 말로서 '저 이만 줄이겠습니다. 다음 편
지를 빨리 또 쓰고 싶군요.'에는 I'll go for now. But I can
wait right again.하면 된다.
