How long does it take from there to the company office?
Aren't you wasting a lot of time for commuting?
It takes about one and a half hours from my home to the office by train.

"Do you believe in resurrection?" the boss asked one of
his younger employees.
"Yes, sir."
"Well, then, that makes everything just fine," the boss went on.
" About an hour after you left yesterday to go to your grandfather's
funeral, he stopped in to see you."

The new line will be in operation from 5:30 a.m. to midnight.
Trains will come every five minutes in the morning and evening
rush hours and every six minutes during the other times.

How long is your commute?
How long does it take you to get back and forth from work?

On the news I saw that during the morning and evening rush hours, some people recklessly push others into the trains.

Some managers spend much of their working time at home, especially those who work a lot on computers.
They can send their work to the company by fax or through the Internet.
There are many advantages in working at home, including more flexible hours and better productivity.
‘Home managers' also save time and money on transportation costs.
In the future, many more managers will be able to work at home, thanks to modern technology and telecommunication.

On the first day, I and a co-worker went into the store after work.
Needless to say, everything looked good.
The store was pretty well stocked.
We both took mental notes of things we'd eventually get.
We wisely decided not to buy anything on that day.
We had plenty of time.
We walked around leisurely, eyeing different items.
I said to myself, “Here are some cheap computer games.
That pair of roller blades for $25 looks good, too.
That battery-powered electric shaver could sure come in handy.”
Yes, we were there to see the goods and to plan our purchases for the last day of the sale, when the prices would be really low.

During my lunch hour, I made a purchase at a crowded bookstore and decided
to charge it. The two clerks were harried, and my transaction was traded
from one woman to another.
When I got outside, I noticed I had both the customer and merchant copies
of the charge form. I thought to myself that I'd just gotten a free book.
But by the time I sat down at my desk, my conscience was bothering me,
and I reached for the phone. When a clerk answered, I explained the
situation and told her I'd return their copy after work.
"Thank you," the woman replied. "I'm glad you called. You left your
charge card on the counter."

If you ar free tonight, how about meeting me after work?

Sir, what time are you going home?
Seven o'clock.
Do you always go home at that time?
No, sometimes I work extra hours when there's a lot of work to do.

We often hear that high achievers are hard-working people who bring work
home and labor over it until bedtime. When Garfield interviewed top
people in major industries, however, he found that they knew how to relax
and could leave their work at the office. They also spent a healthy
amount of time with their family and friends. Successful people are
willing to work hard, but within strict limits. For them, work is not
everything. Will you work hard all the time?

For every plus, however, there is a minus. For one thing, you might
have a job, but unless it is very well-paid, you will not be able to
afford many things because living in a city is often very expensive. What
is more, public transportation is sometimes crowded and dirty,
particularly in the rush hour. Last of all, despite all the crowds, it is
still possible to feel very lonely in a city.

It is also projected that various types of work, such as telecommuting, dualization, and adjustment of commuting time, will take place.

As for the prevention of transmission on public transportation, which is an area highly susceptible to infection, discussions are on-going about adjusting the commute hours.

In addition, the number of cases for car accidents during the evening commute hours was 65,046, up from 3,190 in the same month last year.

The city plans to awaken citizens' awareness of COVID-19 through public transport rules promotion posters, announcements, and display of promotional texts on the operating information device and carry out campaigns during commuting time.

지듯 쉽게 나가버린다.'Easy come, easy go'라는 말이 있다.
A:Oh, you bought a new car.
B:Yes. I couldn't do without a car. It took me too long to commute
to and from work.
A:You must have paid a lot of money, though?
B:Yep. But I acquired some easy money, so I decided to buy a car.
A:Easy come, easy go.
B:However, it's easier to come to work. And, of course, it's easier
to go home, too.
A:I guess it wouldn't be easy to come together and have a drink,
though.
