As it is the first time for a financial company to enter the telecommunications industry, attention is being paid to whether the innovative experiment through convergence between industries will succeed.

Quoting knowledgeable sources, the paper reported in Sunday's editions
that the communications giant will commit to an open access policy on
Monday by outlining a deal with MindSpring Enterprises Inc. in a letter
to Federal Communications Chairman William E. Kennard.

AT&T also have substantial wireless telecommunications operations that
can be developed to offer Internet access.
