The renegade Linux operating system will be in the spotlight again this
week when two related companies, the much-anticipated VA Linux Systems
Inc. and Andover.Net., go public.
Both companies are well-known in the quirky Linux community and among
software developers.
두 개의 리눅스 관련 기업들이 이번 주에 주식을 첫 상장한다. 이에 따라
리눅스 운영체제가 새삼 관심사로 부각될 전망이다.
두 회사는 VA 리눅스시스템즈와 앤도우버닷넷으로 모두 리눅스업계와
소프트웨어 개발자들사이에 잘 알려진 기업들이다.
But they are also expected to get a warm reception on Wall Street,
especially after hot IPOs by Red Hat Inc., the biggest Linux distributor,
and by Cobalt Networks Inc., which makes server appliances that run Linux
for small to medium-sized businesses.
두 회사는 이들 업체에 앞서 기업 공개로 주식을 상장시킨 리눅스 보급업체
레드햇과 리눅스용 서버기기 제조업체인 코발트 네트워크처럼 모두 상장뒤 월

중금속 (Heavy metals)
수은, 납, 세레늄 그리고 크롬과 같은 원자량이 큰 원소 : 또한 비소, 벨리륨,
망강, 아연, 구리, 닛켈, 카드뮴, 탈륨, 바나듐 그리고 코발트도 가끔 포함된다.
이러한 원소들은 보통 산업공정에서 사용되며 환경으로 배출되면 생명체에 흡수
축적되어 독성을 나타낸다.
vitamin B12 (비타민 B12) 시아노코발라민. 항빈혈 인자로서 적색 결정. 4개의 피롤 핵의
3개의 탄소 원자와 6개의 공역 이중 결합을 지닌 환상 구조를 이루며 코발트를 지닌다. 시
안기가 코발트에 배위결합해 있다. 비타민 B12는 수용성이며 알코올에 용해하지만 아세톤,
에테르에는 녹지 않는다. 산에 안정, 알칼리에는 불안정 하다. Co원자에 결합한 시안기 대신
에 OH기라면 하이드로옥시 코발라민, CH3기라면 메틸 코발라민이라고 한다. 시아노 코발
라민 수용액은 278nm, 361nm, 548nm에서 최대한 흡수된다. 이 비타민은 조혈 기구에 중요
하며, RNA에서 DNA의 형성 반응에 관여한다고 생각된다. 식사중의 비타민 B12는 소장 종
말부에서 칼슘, 위벽에서 생산되는 내인자 무코단백의 존재 아래 흡수된다. 혈청 반감기는
약 1주일이다.
