방광은 치골 깊숙한 곳에 있고, 콩팥은 후복막강이라는 복강 뒤에 있고, 전립선도 마찬가지다.
The bladder is located deep in the pubis; the kidneys and the prostate are behind the abdominal cavity called the retroperitoneal cavity.
abdomen (배, 복부) 흉곽과 골반 사이에 위치하고 있는 신체의 부분. belly 와 venter로도
불린다. 횡격막에 의해서 흉강과 구분되어 있고 장막, 즉 복막으로 덮여 있는 복강을 함유한
다. 이 복강은 내장을 함유하며 복근, 척주 및 장골에 의해서 형성되는 복벽으로 둘러싸여
있다. 4개의 가정된 선에 의해서 9개의 부분으로 나누어지는데, 그 중 2개의 선은 신체의 주
위를(위의 선은 제 9늑연골 높이에서, 밑의 선은 장골릉의 선단 높이에서)수평으로 통과하
고, 나머지 2개의 선은 신체의 양측을 제 8늑연골에서 서혜인대의 중앙까지 수직으로 통과
한다. 나누어지는 부위 중, 위의 3부분은 좌우 하륵부와 상위부, 가운데의 3부분은 좌우 요
부와 제부, 아래의 3부분은 좌우 서혜부와 치골부로 불린다.
fibrocartilage (섬유 연골) 연골 기질내에 섬유 조직이 많고, 적응성 재형성 (adaptive
remodeling)을 위한 능력이 특징인 연골 형태로서 척추간 원판 (intervertebral disc), 치골
결합부 (pubic symphysis), 하악 결합부 (mandibular symphysis) 그리고 측두하악관절의 어
떤 부위에서 발견된다.
