The urgently dispatched investigators thoroughly analyzed the visa issuance application documents received at the consulate general and found about 50 companies with poor invitation documents and confirmed that they were all ghost companies.
우한시 총영사관을 통해 상인회와 접촉해 더플레이스에 근무하거나 머물렀던 한국인 50명도 파악해 조사중이다.
50 Koreans who worked or stayed at The Place after contacting the merchants' association through the Wuhan Consulate General are also being investigated.
정은경 질병관리본부장은 "우한시 총영사관을 통해서 상인회하고 접촉한 결과, 상인회에서는 50여분 정도로 해당 공간에서 근무한 사람이 있는 것으로 알고 있어서 더 현황을 파악하고 있다"라고 밝혔다.
Jeong Eun-kyung, head of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said, "As a result of contacting the merchant association through the consulate general in Wuhan, we understand that there are people who worked in the space for about 50 people, so we are more aware of the current situation."
