At the annual shareholders meeting of General Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
held today, my retirement as president and from the board of directors
was formally announced. My successor will be Mr. Christopher Rees, who
is now president of Specialty Steel Co. and one of the founding members
of General Iron & Steel Co.
오늘 열린 제너럴철강주식회사의 연차 주식총회에서, 사장직 및 중역회에서의
저의 은퇴가 공식적으로 발표되었습니다. 후임으로는 현재 스페셜티 철강 주식
회사의 사장으로 계시며, 제너럴철강 창단멤버 중의 한 분이신 Christopher
Rees씨가 될 것입니다.

As you may know, I have been with GENERAL since it was founded 17 years
ago. As such, it has been a privilege and honor to have seen the
company grow and acquire a reputation as one of the world's most modern
and efficient steel producers.
아시다시피 저는 제너럴철강이 창립된 이래 17년간 일해왔습니다. 따라서 회사
가 성장하여 세계에서 가장 근대적이고 효율적인 철강회사의 하나로 명성을 얻
게된 것을 지켜보게 된 것은 특권이자 영광이었습니다.
I have been with(회사명) since재직기간을 나타냄.
work for는 사장의 직위에는 어울리지 않는 표현.
a privilege and honor 자만이 아니라 기쁨을 나타내는 어구.

Thank you very much for the support and courtesies you have extended to
me over the years. We could never have achieved as much as we did
without your valued help. I trust that your strong link with GENERAL
will be maintained in the future.
수년간 제게 베풀어주신 지원과 후의에 감사드립니다. 귀하의 지원없이는 저희
가 이만큼 발전할 수 없었을 것입니다. 앞으로도 제너럴 철강과의 깊은 유대가
지속되리라 봅니다.

My successor, Mr. Rees is one of the finest and most capable men I
know. I would hope that you will extend to him the same support you
have given to me.

다. 저에게 해주셨던 것처럼 계속해서 그분에게도 아낌없는 지원을 해주시길
부탁드립니다.
