◆ too 와 very 의 차이
too : 너무, 지나치게, 대단히
very : 대단히, 매우, 참된, 정말의
일반적으로 too 의 경우 가상의 한계선을 생각할 때 그 선을 넘어선 경우를 나타낼 때 주로 사용합니다.
반대로 very 는 그 한계선을 넘지 않은 경우입니다.
It's too cold. - 너무 춥다. (견디기 힘들 정도)
It's very cold. - 너무 춥다. (그래도 조금은 견딜 만한 정도)
또한 too 는 약간의 부정적인 성향을 나타내고, very는 긍정적인, 좋은 뜻의 단어를 수식할 때 많이 씁니다.
He's too ugly. - 그는 너무 못생겼어.
He's very smart. - 그는 정말 똑똑해.
He's too smart. - 그는 정말 똑똑해 (약간 교활하게 혹은 과도하게)
