Question : What do you do to keep yourself physically fit?
Tom : When I was in college I used to play sports like baseball and basketball.
But I can't do that now, so I try to play golf every weekend.
I work mostly sitting at my desk in my office, so I like to get outside and get some fresh air.
Sue :When the weather is OK, I go jogging in the early morning almost every day.
It's fun and it makes me feel fresh all day.
In the winter I don't feel safe running in the dark, so I usually jump rope and lift weights before breakfast.
Liz :I have no weight problem, but I'm not as strong as I used to be.
I'm worried about my health, to tell the truth.
Last summer I quit smoking and next month I'm going to buy an exercise machine.
I'm looking forward to that.

The whole day was a blaze of sunshine.
The ghostly winter silence had given way to the great spring murmur of awakening life.
This murmur arose from all the land, filled with the joy of living.
It came from the things that lived and moved again, things which had not moved during the long months of frost.
The willows were bursting out in young buds.
Shrubs and vines were putting on fresh clothes of green.
Woodpeckers were booming and knocking in the forest.
Squirrels were chattering and birds were singing.

If your job requires you to be on your feet in one spot all day
―in front of a sales counter, for example―chances are you've complained that your feet are tired and achy.
" Standing in one place all the time is one of the worst things you can do to your feet,"
says Frank Myers, Doctor of Ohio University's College of Medicine in Athens, Ohio.
"The muscles don't flex or contract; they are just static."
One solution is to step on and off a raised surface, such as a telephone book, to give your muscles some work.
Or take your shoes off and roll a golf ball behind the ball of each foot for a minute or two.

After putting in a full day's work, I am exhausted.
Carrying around those extra pounds makes it difficult to stay on my feet, but I can't quit work because I need the money.
I wonder how these men would feel if THEIR pregnant wives had to stand and hang on to a strap while other men sat.

"There are two things in Japan that determine one's life," explains Taizo Kato, a professor of sociology at Waseda University.
"One is marriage and the other is the college entrance examination."
Passing is everything.
A good score justifies the nearly round-the-clock routine of study that begins in grade school; the result is a ticket into the highest levels of industry, finance or government.
Failure spells abject humiliation for the family and the likelihood of a dismal career.
(College itself is often just a playful respite between the rigors of high school and the working world.)

George Willard, the Ohio village boy, was fast growing into manhood, and new
thoughts had been coming into his mind. All that day, amid the jam of people at the
Fair, he had gone about feeling lonely. He was about to leave Winesburg to go away
to some city where he hoped to get work on a city newspaper and he felt grown up.
The mood that thad taken possession of him was a thing known to men and unknown
to boys.

My son and his fiancee were dining out with friends. While they were
enjoying the salad, a ladybug crawled to the top of a lettuce leaf.
They told their waitress when she returned to their table.
"Oh," she replied with feigned pleasure, "we've been looking for her
all day!"

I am tired with studying all day long.

If you keep a daily journal, you will find yourself writing down thoughts
that you carry with you all day. These thoughts include not just
conscious one. They also include subconscious thoughts that you were not
even aware you were thinking until you sat down to write. Pretty soon,
you will have collected a lot revealing facts about yourself. These will
help you focus on your problems, and ultimately solve them.

I feel so bad
I've got a worried mind
I'm so lonesome all the time
Since I left my baby behind on
Blue bayou
**
Saving nickels saving dimes
Working 'til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times on
Blue bayou
I'm going back some day
Come what may to
Blue bayou
Where the folks are fine
And the world is mine on
Blue bayou
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be
-
Gonna see my baby again
Gonna be with some of my friend
Maybe I feel better again on
Blue bayou
** repeat
Ah, that boy of mine by my side
The silver moon and the evening tide
Some sweet day gonna take away
This hurtin' inside
No one ever be blue
My dreams come true on

-

It's been seven hours and fifteen days since you took love away.
I go out every night and sleep all day.
Since you took love away.
Since you been gone I can do what ever I want.
I can see whom ever I choose.
I can eat my dinner in fancy restaurant.
But, nothing I set nothing can take away blues.
Cause, nothing compare's nothtng compare's to you.
It's been so lonely without you here.
Like bird without song.
Nothing can stop these loney tear from following.
Tell me baby where(?) did go lone?
I could put my arms around ever boy I see.
But, they only remind me of you.
I when to the doctor guess what he told me?
Guess what he told me?
He said "go you better have fun".
No (?) what you do but his fool.
Cause nothing compare to you.

In his poem "The Lady of Shalott," Lord Tennyson tells the story of a lady who sits weaving in her room all day long.
Afraid to join the world, she sits in front of a mirror the reflects the world she is not part of.
She doesn't know what it's like to experience the feelings that go along with life.

You knew about this?
Uh... y'know, knowledge is a tricky thing.
I spent the entire day with you, why didn't you tell me?!

Oh no, I'm sure the Xerox machine caught a few.

- When is Nina coming back? - Probably not for a couple of hours.
What makes you say that?
- I just talked to her. - When?
Couple of minutes ago. She's at Division. It's possible she'll be there all day.
What do you need?
Never mind.
Look, if somebody doesn't tell me what's going on, I'm going to Chapelle.
I told you, I have to speak to Jamey.

Yeah, and I just heard her tell Milo you were at Division and you might be there all day.
- Who did she hear that from? - She said she just talked to you.
- Nina, what is going on? - We can't trust Jamey.
- Jack said CTU had been infiltrated. - Are you saying Jamey's a spy?
Why else would she lie? She must think I'm dead.
- Why would she think that? - I'll explain later. You have to bring me in.
OK. I'll come get you.
No. Stay there. Act as if everything's all right.
Jack behaved very strangely when he was at CTU. These people must be watching us.
I dunno, probably through our own surveillance.
All right, look, I'll send a car. What's your address?

It's machine 25 again.
Been spittin' silver all day.
It's a good day to gamble.
Vegas. Guy like you.
Come on you're trying to tell me that you didn't make a little pit stop.

Ah, put some gloves on.
You know, I can't believe you messed up a crime scene.
The body fell out when I opened the door. It happens. We move on.
It'll bother you all day.

Fine. I'll go.
But I'm keeping my back pressed against the wall the entire time.
See? Now this is what a marriage is all about -- compromise.

Intern was reassigned, so he's mine now.
Have him shadow you for the day.
You show him how I do things.

There are plenty of other cases.
So go get one. I was here first.
I am not backing down so I can do sutures all day, while you're in the O.R.
This is a surgical case, and you know it.
It's superficial.
It's cool, but it's superficial.

Sir, Dr. Bailey sent me to assist you. Should I scrub in?
No. I'm stuck here all day.
I need you on the floor, monitoring my pre- and post-op patients.
Oh.

You got a problem with that, O'Malley?
Oh, uh, no, sir.

You are 8 feet tall.
Your boobs are perfect.
Your hair is down to there.
If I were you, I would walk around naked all the time.
I wouldn't -- I wouldn't have a job.
I wouldn't have skills. I wouldn't even know how to read.
I'd just be...
naked.
It's makeup.
It's retouching.

What do you want?
Nothing. I just haven't seen you all day.
So, I'm working.

Shut up, Kim.
Just...
shut up, huh?
You complain to me, about me... look, maybe... around me all day... every day.
A little silence would be nice.
A few measly minutes of quiet. Listen. Listen.
Can't you for once... In your life... just shut up?!

I have been working on this thing around the clock.
around the clock : 하루종일. 24시간 내내 (=continuously)
work around the clock는 "하루종일 일하다."

Be as it:
Mother's been at it all day. I wish she would have a rest.
I've told you to stop biting your fingernails, but you're at
it again!

I can sit[or stay] up (sit up으로는,
(2) 작은 조각: a small carving [or sculpture]
Not at all; Not in the least[or
slightest].
형태로는, Far from it이 된다.
He explanation was far from (being) satisfactory.
He English composition was far from (being) perfect.
Sleeping Cat"is merely [or only] a small carving.이라고
