Turn the screw the other way round.
그래서 to screw up one's courage라고 하면 용기를 죄어 올리는 것이니까
-

그래서 to have a screw loose라고 하면 '멍하다'입니다.

-

You trying to screw me?
나사를 죄는 거니까 뭔지 아시겠죠. ^^;

The literature instructor had spent almost the entire class period
lecturing on the life and writing of Edgar Allan Poe. He noticed one
student with a blank stare and decided to try to catch him off guard.
"Mr. Thompson, since you seem uninterested in what I have to say, I can
only conclude that you already have a vast knowledge of Poe. Perhaps you
would care to give the other members of your class the benefit this wisdom
by describing the man in one word." Without a change of expression, the
student replied, "Dead."

Darwin, after going round the world, spent the whole of the rest of his life in his
own house. Marx, after stirring up a few revolutions, decided to spend the remainder
of his days in the British Museum. Altogether it will be found that a quiet life is
characteristic of great men and that their pleasures have not been of the sort that would
look exciting to the outward eye.

Across the Channel, French President Francois Mitterrand is following policies
diametrically opposed to those of Thatcher. She seeks obsessively to lower Britain's
inflation; he would risk increasing France's 14.5% rate in an all-out drive to create
new jobs. She has clamped down on government spending: he has thrown open the
national coffers. She accepts high interest rates as necessary medication; he damns
them as a cruel impediment. She refuses to reflate the British economy; he is
committed to expanding the French.

B:Yes. My family and I are going to New York for a week.

Did you say you're going---? Did you say you
were going to---? My
family and I are---.
I played soccer with my son. My son and I played
My family and I are going
to to New York and stay there for a week.

We're going to buy a house when we've saved enough money.

A village doctor was very annoyed because people used to stop him in
the street and ask his advice. He has never paid for such services. He
decided to put an end to this. One day, he was stopped by a young man,
who said to him, "I've got a pain in my left side." The doctor said
playfully, "Shut you eyes and stick you tongue out of your mouth." Then
he went away, leaving the man standing in the street with his tongue
hanging out...

An electronic funds transfer system-called E.F.T. in banking circles-is
replacing the paperwork in banking processes. With its use of computers to carry
out financial transactions, E.F.T. is changing the way people pay bills and may
eliminate the necessity for carrying cash. But there is a snag in this
technological revolution, and that is the reluctance of consumers to change
their habits. Regardless of whether or not consumers like it, bankers are
determined to fully implement the new system. The full use of E.F.T.
nevertheless may be a quarter century away.

Yes, 'cause now I have to go down there, and deal with them.

Did anybody else feel they just wanted to peel the skin off their body, to have something else to do?

SNOW JOB
Are you trying to pull a snow job on us?

[John's Diary]
The 2 minutes felt like 2 hours! I hurried out of the station
and ran towards the theater. I crashed into an oncoming lady.
A pile of papers the lady was holding dropped and scattered
everywhere. I apologized again and again, and broke into a
run. Well, today would not have been complete without so many
people on the street! The crowds added to the absurdity of it
all. It was disgustingly hot and humid, as usual. I finally
got to the theater and saw a never-ending line of people.
1. Hurried out of the station: Hurry
명사로 써서 in a hurry를 쓸 수도 있습니다.
I ran out of the station in a hurry.
2. Crashed into an oncoming lady: Crash
Hey, are you driving towards my house?
Nope. I'm driving INTO your house.
I'm not ready for the oncoming shockwave of societal
transformation.
3. Broke into a run: Break
He broke into a smile when he heard it.
His voice broke.
4. Today would not have been complete without so many people
Today would not have been complete without a construction in
the middle of the road!
5. The crowds added to the absurdity of it all: 하필이면
His father's death added to his misery.
6. Disgustingly hot and humid:
7. Never-ending line of people: Never-ending story
He gave me a "who-the-hell-are-you" look.
He looked at me as if to say "who the hell are you."
Teens model themselves after the movie stars.
Model oneself after(on) someone
Teens look at our movie stars and they model themselves after them.
He tried to model himself after his father.

Tom : I mean, HE'S A WITNESS ANYWAY YOU CUT IT.

But I know if I give him the money, he'll kill Sean.

You think you're smart.
You got everybody off balance.
You think you got it all figured out.
Jimmy: (지미가 클라크에게) You trying to screw me?

When do you intend to complete phase one?

How do you intend to excavate this trench?

You're asking for it..
