Many people have been thinking of the possibility of sending human beings to Mars.
But we aren't really at that point yet.
Why? The first reason is safety.
Different nations have sent more than thirty probes toward Mars, but only one-third of them have survived the trip.
The second reason is cost.
It costs about a million dollars per kilogram to deliver robots to Mars.
It would take at least fifty billion dollars to get a person to Mars.
The last reason is the cosmic radiation that astronauts would absorb during the mission.
Much of this radiation is blocked on Earth by the Earth’s magnetic field.
Mars has no magnetic field.
많은 사람들은 인간을 화성에 보내는 가능성에 대해 생각해왔다.
하지만 우리는 아직까지는 그 정도에 도달하지 못하고 있다.
왜일까? 첫 번째 이유는 안전이다.

이러한 우주선은 지구에서는 지구의 자기장 때문에 많은 양이 차단되지만 화성에는 자기장이 없다.
