☞ 인지적 부조화 이론(cognitive dissonance theory) 사람들이 의견이나
태도 또는 그 밖의 다른 사항에 대하여 동시에 두 가지 다른 인지를
일으키는 경우 심리적 불안감을 느낀다는 이론. 즉, 소비자는 자신의 잠재
성향과 모순되는 메시지를 받았을 때 인지적 부조화가 생기며 그것이 자기
관여도가 높은 상품에 관한 메시지일수록 심하게 나타난다.
이에 따른 소비자의 행동은 ① 피하거나, ② 나름대로 해석, ③ 잊는다.
등의 경향을 보인다. 다시 말해서 메시지의 원활한 전달이 저해되는 경우를
말한다.
