knows that Negro blood has a message for the world.
또한 그는 자신의 흑인 영혼을 백인 미국문화의 홍수 속에 표백하고 싶지도 않다.
왜냐하면 흑인의 피는 세계에 가르쳐줄 것이 있다는 것을 그는 알고있기 때문이다.
He simply wished to make it possible for a man to be both a Negro and
an Amercan, without being cursed and spat upon by his fellows, without
having the doors of opportunity closed roughly in his face.
다만 그가 바라는 것은 흑인이면서 미국인이 될 수 있고, 동료인간들로부터
저주와 침뱉음을 당하지 않고, 기회의 문이 자신의 면전에서 난폭하게 닫히지
않도록 하는 것이다.
Draco : A spoiled, ungrateful child was given a great gift, and destroyed it!
(버릇없고 배은망덕한 아이가 고귀한 선물을 받아서 그것을 망쳐 버렸어!)
Bowen : No! I knew Einon. I was his teacher.

이중적인 뜻으로 쓰였다.
