[比較] ambiguous, equivocal
「뜻이 모호한, 이중으로 취할 수 있는」을 의미한다. 그러나 equivocal은 뜻의 이중적 혼란으로 인한 속임수가 고의적인 것이고, ambiguous는 그런 속임수가 고의적일 수도 있고 고의적이 아닌 것일 수도 있다. equivocation(모호한 언사)은 강한 비난이 들어 있는 말이다. 거짓말을 의미할 뿐만 아니라 계획적으로 말을 꾸민 동시에 비겁한 거짓말을 의미한다.
