belly는 가슴뼈(breastbone)에서 골반(pelvis)까지 걸치는 몸의 부분, 복부 장기가 들어있는 부분을 가리킨다. 그러나 일반적으로 이 말은 상스럽고 거친 말로 느껴지고 있다. 미국에서보다 영국에서 더 그렇지만 영국에서는 19세기의 genteelism(점잔빼는 어법)에서 「상스럽다」(improper)라는 낙인이 찍혀 그 영향으로 거의 사라져 가고 있고, 동물의「배」, 선박의 「뱃속」, 비행기의 「기체의 밑바닥」따위, 그리고 약간의 속담, 관용구에 남이 있을 뿐이다. 미국에서는 사정이 좀 달라 구어나 속어의 성구에 흔히 쓰이고 있다.

또한 어원적 뜻은 bag로, bellows(풀무)와 유사하다.
abdomen은 의학용어 또는 병실에서의 회화나 진단서 이외에 이 말을 쓰는 것은 과장된 어법이며 완곡어법이다.
stomach는 위나 위장을 가리키지만 stomach ache처럼 가끔 한층 넓은 범위에도 쓰인다. 또한 비유적으로 I cannot stomach his insulting behavior.(그의 무례한 거동은 참을 수 없다.)처럼 사용되기도 한다. 그러나 이 말이 복부 전체를 가리키는 데에 적당하지 않다는 점을 말하는 이나 듣는 이가 잘 알고 있어, 완곡어로 쓰는 경우에는 오히려 어색한 감이 도는 말이다.
tummy는 어린애들이 쓰는 말로 stomach의 이형(s)tummi(ck)에서 왔다. 아무리 섬세한 이라도 stomach pump, stomach ulcer 따위의 말에 tummy라고는 하지 않을 것이다.
guts는 본래의 뜻은 「내장, 배알」(entrails)이고 상스럽고 기분나쁜 말이다. 그러나 이런 말이 필요한 경우에는 이 말을 쓸 수밖에 없다. 또한 단수형이 복수형보다 덜 불쾌하다.

body는 살아 있거나 죽은 사람 또는 동물의 물질적 유기체를 가리켜 몸이나 시체를 의미한다.

corpse와 그 완곡어인 remains는 사람의 시체를 가리키고, carcass는 동물의 시체를 말하지만 때로는 경멸투로 또는 우스운 말로 산 사람이나 죽은 사람의 몸을 가리키는 수도 있다.

cadaver는 의학 해부용으로서의 사람의 시체를 가리키며 때로는 몹시 말라서 해골처럼 보이는 산 사람을 말하는 수도 있다.
carrion은 썩은 carcass를 가리킨다.
설사: "loose bowels" 혹은 의학적 용어로는 diarrhea 는 표현을 씁니다.
물 같은 설사는 watery diarrhea하고요. 심한 설사는 violent purging라고 합니다. "I'm running."

일상회화에서는 sure보다 더 확실한 것을 표현할 때
positive란 말을 즐겨쓴다.

For the past half-century, those lucky enough to have been born in a rich country have had every prospect of growing richer.

키지요. 피부색을 바꾸는 것까지 가능하다고 합니다.

plastic surgery의 종류도 우리나라에서 가장 흔히 시행되고 있는
쌍꺼풀은 double eyelids이라고 합니다.

간에 실리콘 같은 것을 집어넣어서 가슴의 빈공간은 메우는 것을 말하
고요. 그 다음에 breast reduction 이라고 하는 것은 가슴이 지나치게
큰 경우 작게 하는 것이고 지방 제거술은 lipo suction이라고 합니다.

해리 또는 전환 장애로도 불리며 과거기억, 자아 각성, 즉각적 감정등과 몸의 움직임의 부분적

의한 것일 경우에 그러하다. 해결 할 수 없는 문제나 대인관계의 곤란등에서 야기될 때는 마취,

이 증상의 기원은 심인성이며 외상, 해결불가능의 문제, 장애적 대인관계와 관련된다. 이런 증상들은
환자의, 신체적 질병의 발현에 대한 개념을 나타낸다. 의학적 검사만으로는 기존의 신체적, 정신적
장애를 밝힐수 없다. 게다가 기능의 상실이 감정적 갈등이나 필요의 표현이라는 증거가 있다. 증상은
심리학적 스트레스와 밀접히 연관되어 갑자기 나타난다. 수의의 조절하에 신체적 기능장애와 감각의
상실만이 포함된다. 자율신경계에 의한 복잡한 육체적 감각이나 통증은 신체증상화 장애로 분류된
