To establish the adequacy and accuracy of information submitted in response to questionnaires
and other requests for information, the Department examines the records of the party that
provided the information and interviews company personnel who prepared the questionnaire
response and are familiar with the sources of the data in the response. This process is called
verification. The Department must verify information relied upon in making a final determination
in an investigation, or in an administrative review when revocation of an antidumping order is
properly requested. The Department also must verify information submitted in an administrative
review if an interested party so requests and no verification of the producer or exporter had been
conducted during the two immediately proceeding reviews of that producer or exporter, or if
good cause for verification is shown. (Section 782(i) of the Act.) Also section 351.307 of the
regulations.

답변서에 제출된 정보의 정확성 및 타당성 그리고 정보에 대한 여타
요청사항을 검증하기 위하여, 상무부는 정보를 제출한 관계자의 기록을
조사함과 아울러 답변서를 제출하고 답변서에 기재된 자료를 잘 알고
있는 회사직원을 면접한다. 이 과정을 검증(verification)이라고 부른다.
상무성은 덤핑조사에서 최종결정 또는 덤핑방지관세의 철회요청으로
인한 행정적인 재심에 사용되는 정보를 검증해야 한다. 또한 상무부는
이해관계인의 요청이 있고 생산자와 수출자에 대한 검증이 이루어지지
않았다면, 행정재심에서 제출된 정보를 검증해야 한다. (법 제782조(i)와
규칙(19 CFR) 351.307 참조)
