The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while refraining from making
any official statement, said it has instructed the Korean mission
in Tokyo to look into the reports.
외무부는 공식 성명은 자제하면서도 주일대사관에 이번 보도에 대해
검토할 것을 지시했다고 밝혔다.

It will take appropriate action only after it receives a report
from the Korean Embassy, a ministry official said.
외무부 관계자는 주일대사관 측으로부터 보고를 받은 연후에 적절한

But political parties departed from the ministry's cautious
approach, denouncing the LDP's move as ``anachronistic.''

A South Korean diplomat in Vladivostok was found murdered
Tuesday night in his apartment building. He had apparently been
struck on the back of the head with a blunt object and stabbed in
the side with an auger, the Foreign Ministry said yesterday.
1일밤 블라디보스토크 주재 한국 외교관 1명이 자신의 아파트에서 살
해된 채로 발견되었다. 외무부는 2일, 살해된 외교관은 머리 뒷부분을
둔기로 가격받았으며 옆구리는 송곳으로 찔렸다고 밝혔다.

A Russian resident found Choi Duck-keun, 54, consul at the South
Korean Consulate-General in the Russian Far Eastern port city,
lying on a third-floor staircase at about 9:00 p.m. local time
(8:00 p.m. KST) and reported the incident to the police, said a
ministry spokesman.
러시아 극동 항구 도시인 블라디보스토크의 한국 총영사에 근무하는
최덕근(54)영사가 현지시간 오후 9시(한국시간 오후 8시)에 아파트 3
층 계단에 쓰러져 있는 것을 한 러시아인이 발견, 경찰에 신고했다고
외무부 대변인이 밝혔다.

None of Choi's belongings _ including his passport, wallet and
cash _ had been stolen, said Suh Dae-won, the spokesman.
외무부 서대원 대변인은 "여권, 지갑, 현금 등 최영사의 소지품은 그
대로 남아있었다"고 밝혔다.

Ministry officials have refrained from mentioning the
possibility that Choi had been killed by North Korean agents.
외무부 당국자들은 최영사가 북한공작원에 의해 살해당했을 가능성에
대해서는 언급을 자제하고 있다.

``At the moment, there is no clue pointing to Choi being
murdered by North Koreans,'' said a ministry official. ``We are
waiting for the results of the investigation by the Russian
authorities.''

Ministry officials said they don't rule out the possibility that
Choi's attacker had no connection to North Korea, indicating the
poor security situation in Vladivostok.

``The charge against Kim by an Indonesian female staff at the

The woman, who worked as a kitchen maid at Amb. Kim's
residence, quit in early September after being scolded by the
ambassador for ``bad conduct,'' the official said.

The Dutch prosecution has started investigating the alleged
sexual abuse case, the Dutch Foreign Ministry said.
네덜란드 외무부는 "이번 사건에 대한 검찰 조사를 착수했다"고 밝혔
다.

``The Dutch Foreign Ministry is planning to ask South Korean
authorities to lift the ambassador's diplomatic privilege so that
he can be questioned about the complaint,'' a ministry spokesman
said.
"네덜란드 외무부는 한국측에 김대사의 면책특권을 보류해 조사가 이
뤄질 수 있도록 협조를 요청할 예정"이라고 외무부 대변인은 밝혔다.

제6조 (촉탁의 경로) ①외국으로의 촉탁을 하고자 하는 재판장이 속하는 법원
의 장은 법원행정처장에게 촉탁서 기타 관계서류를 송부할 것을 요청하여야 한
다.
Article 6 (Channel of Entrustment)
(1) The head of the court to which the presiding judge of the court who
wishes to make an entrustment to a foreign country belongs, shall request
the Director of the Court Administration Office to send the written
entrustment and other related documents.
②법원행정처장은 외무부장관에게 제1항의 규정에 의한 촉탁서 기타 관계서류
를 외교상의 경로를 통하여 제5조에 규정된 수탁기관으로 송부할 것을 의뢰하
여야 한다.
(2) The Director of the Court Administration Office shall request the
Minister of Foreign Affairs to send the written entrustment and other
related documents as provided in paragraph (1) to the entrusted agency as
provided in Article 5, through a diplomatic channel.
