수첩을 영어로는 appointment book 또는 diary 라고한다.다른 사람
이 예정을 물을 때 [어디 봅시다] [확인해 보겠습니다]라고 할 때
는 Let me check it with my appointment book. 라고 하면 된다.
[다음 주는 모두 예정되어 있습니다] 라고 할 때는 [ I'm afraid
I'm fully booked next week.] 이다. 사람을 만나거나 무슨 부탁
을 할 때에는 사전에 반드시 약속을 해야 안다. 이러한 약속을
appointment 라고 하며 [약속하다]는 make an appointment 라고 한
다. 약속을 하고 면해갔을 때는 반드시 [My mame is -. I have an
appointment to see - at ... 라고 비서나 접수계에 말해야 한다는
것을 알아두자. 이런경우 처럼 면회의 약속은 promise가 아니다.

Some types of animals, the jaguar, for example, have been killed off to the point that very few still exist.
A number of these rare animals live in areas where new dams are planned.
In many cases, they could become extinct.

until their numbers increase to a safe level.
One solution is to create preserves, large areas of land or water where animals and fish are protected.
