Drawing our special attention was the death of some 50 soldiers who
were mostly buried while asleep in their barracks in landslides
triggered by the torrential rain. The military also suffered huge
facility damage estimated at some 70 billion won. Besides, bridges and
roads were destroyed in 114 places and 15,386 ha of farmland was
inundated as embankments were washed away at over 120 locations.

지가 침수되었다.

마을에서는 그의 죽음을 두고 "매일같이 오토바이를 직접 타고 다른 동네에 놀러도 다닐 만큼 건강하셨는데 갑자기 돌아가셨다"며 안타까워했다.
In the village, people regretted his death, saying, "He was healthy enough to ride a motorcycle himself and would travel to another town every day, but he suddenly passed away."
최경자 분당연세요양병원 간호사는 "이 기간 입소한 자녀를 만나기 위해 먼 길을 달려온 어머니를 되돌려 보내야 했다"고 안타까워했다.
Choi Kyung-ja, a nurse at the Bundang Yonsei Nursing Hospital, said, "I had to send his/her mother back, who had been running a long way to meet his/her children who entered the hospital during this period."
허 간호사는 "온 힘을 다해 치료했는데 결국 돌아가실 때 힘이 빠진다"며 "뉴스에서 사망자 정보가 뜨면 우리는 '○○어르신이 돌아가셨다'며 안타까워하곤 했다"고 전했다.
