- condo: Condominium과 studio의 중간 넓이로 방은 하나지만, 커튼 등으로 둘로 나눠 쓸 수 있다.
- vintage: 지은 지 80년에서 100년 된 낡은 건물로 아파트로 개조되기도 한다.
- furnished / unfurnished: 가구 딸림/가구 없음. 아파트에 따라 다르지만, 침대에서부터 식기류까지 딸려 있기도 하다.

A tenant is someone who pay rent to live in a house or flat, or who
pays rent for the use of land or buildings.
집이나 아파트, 땅, 건물 등을 빌려 쓰면서 세를 지불하는 사람이죠.
참고로 flat 은 아파트를 말하는 거 ...아시죠?

업, 소득, 가족관계를 조사하여 다달이 월세를 받는데 하자
가 없음을 확인하여 임대여부를 결정한다. 그러나 이것도 인
기있는 아파트의 경우에 한정되며 모두가 그런 것은 아니라
한다. 그리고, 우리의 경우처럼 분양받아 소유를 하는 것을
condominium(분양맨션)이라 한다.
미국에는 전세가 없다. 그리고 계약서가 까다로와 입주시와
집을 비워줄 때의 변동사항에 대해 일일이 체크해 변제받는
철저함을 보인다.
[Q] 신문 사설을 읽다 보니 "nimby"라고 써 있던데 이것이 무엇의
약자인가요?
[A] 1986년 영국에서 새롭게 만들어 낸 말로써
"not in my backyard" 하는 것에 대한 머릿글자를 딴 말입니다.
직역 : 내 뒷마당에서는 안 된다.
모순 된 이기주의를 가르키는 의미로써 통용되는 말이 nimby입
니다.
ex) 장애인의 사회 보호시설을 역설하면서도 아파트 값이 떨어진다
해서 장애인 수용시설이 자기 동네에 들어서는 것을 반대하는
것따위를 nimby라고 한다.

After parking our car at my daughter's apartment late Saturday night,
I noticed the one next to it had its lights on. I left a note on the

About 3 a.m. the phone rang and a man said, "I'm sorry to bother you,
but I read your note and sure would appreciate a boost."
I turned on my car lights to see what we were doing, and after I got
him started, he offered to pay me. "No thanks," I replied. "Just
help some other motorist sometime."
When I went to my car on Sunday morning, I discovered I had left
my lights on, and the battery was dead.
