Without doubt
Truth is beautiful without doubt, and so are lies. - R. W. Emerson

According to their cultures, people have pierced and decorated their bodies throughout history.
Ear piercing has been popular in Europe since the eighteenth century,
when rich women wore diamonds in their ears to show their wealth.
People in India have been piercing their noses for a long time.
Group members in America often show that they belong by piercing certain body parts.
And some cultures have considered it beautiful to push needles through their skin.

Like many fairy stories, the tale of Rapunzel has a deeper meaning to it.
It is a story about self-image.
Rapunzel is a young lady who lives locked up in a castle imprisoned by an old witch who continually tells her how ugly she is.
One day, a handsome prince passes by the tower and tells Rapunzel of her loveliness.
She lets down her golden locks so he may climb her hair to rescue her.
It is neither the castle nor the witch that has kept her a prisoner, but the belief in her own ugliness.
When she recognizes her beauty, she sees that she can be set free.
We all need to be aware of the witches inside ourselves that are stopping us from breaking free.
* locks: 머리채

Once while hearing a young lady highly praised for her beauty, I asked:
What kind of beauty do you mean?
Merely that of the body, or also that of the mind?
Many a pretty girl is like a flower which is admired for its beautiful appearance, but despised for its unpleasant odor.
It is far better to acquire beauty than to be born with it.

No wise person will marry for beauty mainly.
It may exercise a powerful attraction in the first place, but it is found to be of comparatively little consequence afterwards.

We always assume that an interest in the beauty of Nature is a sign of goodness in a person.
It is a strange assumption we make and neither do we understand why, generally speaking, we consider Nature to be beautiful.

Left alone with Nature, man starts to rearrange what he finds there.
He proceeds quite often with some principle of equation in his mind.
He is driven by the notion that if he puts something on one side of anything, he ought to put another thing just like it on the other side.
Then he calls it beautiful.

*no less than …만큼 just as…as:
She is no less beautiful than her elder sister.

The habit of thinking by means of comparison is a fatal one.
When anything pleasant occurs, it should be enjoyed to the full, without
stopping to think that it is not so pleasant as something else that may
possibly be happening to someone else.
"Yes," says the envious man, "this is a sunny day, and it is springtime,
and the birds are singing, but I understand that the springtime in
Sicily is a thousand times more beautiful."

The scenery is beautiful beyond description.

She is as pretty as before.

It os my belief that honesty pays in the long run.

If the world is so beautiful.
I have heard that only suffering lies.

He told me that I was beautiful, but I think he was just pulling my leg.

Like most other boys, John Palmer liked football and loud music. But
what he liked most was going to the movies. And of all the movie stars,
he thought Jane Brightman was the most beautiful. For his sixteenth
birthday, his parents got him tickets for the first showing of Jane
Brightman's new movie, Last Friday Night. John was beside himself. When
he discovered that he would be sitting right next to Jane Brightman, he
nearly fainted with joy.
Jane

Small is beautiful

< The Way We Were > performed by Barbra Streisand
========================================================
Memories light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor
memories of the way we were
Scattered pictures of the smiles
we left behind
Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me,
would we?
Could we?
Memories may be beautiful,
and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it' the laughter we will remember

She is as beautiful as any girl in her class.

PTA (Parents Teacher
