영국 브리스톨대학 의대 안과 전문의 콜린 추 박사 연구팀은 크리스퍼(CRISPR) 유전자 가위를 이용, 안구의 섬모체(모양체, ciliary body)에 있는 유전자 아쿠아포린1(Aquaporin1)을 억제해 녹내장을 치료하는 방법을 개발했다고 사이언스 데일리(ScienceDaily)가 21일 보도했다.
According to the report of ScienceDaily on 21, a research team led by Dr. Colin Chu, a doctor of ophthalmology at the Bristol Medical School of the University of Bristol in the U.K., developed a method to cure glaucoma by inhibiting Aquaporin 1 gene in the ciliary body of the eyeball with CRISPR gene scissors.

기관이 붕괴되고 기도가 막히는 것을 막아 준다. 동시에 뒤쪽에서 환을 연결시켜 주는 연조
직은 근처의 식도가 음식이 통과할 때 확장되도록 해준다.
