Commission that he had spent about 71 million won.

선관위에 신고한 선거비용은 7천1백만원.
Kim's disclosure also stunned the Central Election Management
Commission, which had unveiled the outcome of its investigations
into campaign spending by candidates last month.
김씨의 폭로로 중앙선관위도 큰 타격을 입었다. 선관위는 지난달 의
원 후보들의 선거비용 실사 결과를 발표한 바 있다.
The CEMC action, though its final outcome has yet to be seen, is yet
another step forward toward achieving a culture of clean elections.
Whenever elections are held, the authorities vow stringent punishment
against election violators, but without result. The CEMC's stern measure
could help wipe out the long-standing belief that election law violators
are home free if they win.
아직 최종 판결이 내려진 것은 아니지만, 중앙 선관위의 이러한 움직임은
깨끗한 선거 문화를 정착시키기 위한 또하나의 조치라고 볼 수 있다. 선거
철이 되면 언제나, 당국자들이 위반자들에 대한 엄중한 처벌을 다짐하지만,
우야무야로 끝나곤 했었다. 중앙 선관위의 이러한 엄격한 조치는 선거법 위
반자들이 지녀 온 일단 당선되고나면 그만이라는 오랜 관행을 불식시킬 수
있게 될 것이다.
