How to Raise Productivity : 기업의 생산성을 올리기 위해서는
A comparative analysis of international productivity recently
conducted by the Korea Productivity Center (KPC) indicates the
fragile basis of our economy.

리 경제는 그 기초가 취약한 것으로 보인다.

Korea's productivity in general has shown impressive growth over
the past 16 years. In the electric, gas and piped water sectors, average
productivity was estimated at $220,000 last year, outsinning that of
other countries, on the basis of a purchasing power parity (PPP).

the nation has to make efforts to improve the efficiency of capital
investment and should help less productive industries swiftly switch into
high value-added business lines, for example.

Soaring wages should be kept in check to raise the productivity
figures. According to a recent government report, nominal wages rose
16.8 percent in 1987-94 and the inflation rate was 6.4 percent, resulting
in a 10.4 percent increase in real wage growth. In advanced nations, we
see nominal wages increase by less than 5 percent and real ages by 2
percent or so.
