amassed 400 billion won in slush funds and had stashed the money in
false bank accounts while in office from 1988 to 1993.

A senior prosecutor added, however, the investigation would not be directed at secret funds in general raised by business groups.
그러나 한 부장판사는 검찰 수사가 기업의 비자금을 직접 겨냥한 것은 아니라고 덧붙였다.
"The ongoing probe is focusing on illegal funds handed over to political parties and thus will not directly target secret corporate funds as a whole," said Kim Jong-bin, the deputy prosecutor general.
김종빈 대검 차장은 "이번 수사가 정당의 불법 정치자금을 규명하는 데 초점이 맞춰진 만큼 기업들의 비자금을 직접 겨냥한 수사가 되지는 않을 것"이라고 강조했다.
