중류층이라고 믿는 사람들이 많아지는 형상이라는데
왜 그런가요?
Ａ ： 신드롬에는 두 가지 현상이 있습니다.
병리학적인 신드롬과 사회학적인 신드롬이 그것인데요.
스스로를 중류층이라고 믿는 사람들이 많아 지는 사회적
현상을 Doorknocker syndrome, 우리 말로 하면 '중류의식 증후군'
이라고 합니다.
Doorknocker는 문에 달린 쇠장식 같은 것을 말하는 것인데요.
방문객의 내방을 알리는 용도로 쓰이는 이 쇠장식이 달린
집에 살려면 어느 정도 경제 능력이 있어야 되겠죠.
그런 이유로 영국에서는 Doorknocker이 붙어있는 집에
산다는 것이 중류계층의 상징으로 여겨왔습니다.
풍요의 시대라는 요즘에는 노동계층에서도 이 Doorknocker이
달린 집에 사는 사람들이 많아 졌구요. 스스로를 중산층이라고
여기는 사회 풍조가 두드러지게 되었죠.
아뭏든 Doorknocker Syndrome이란 말은 중류층을 문에 다는
쇠장식에 비유한 재미있는 신조어입니다.

식물 병리학은 식물들의 병을 연구한다.
나노머신(nano machine): 크기와 가격이 일반 전자계산기정도에 불과하지만
그 기능이 병리학 실험실에 맞먹는 최신식 의료기기. 환자의 혈액 오줌 침
등 체액을 분석해 바이러스 감염 여부와 유전적 질환을 즉각적으로 포착해
낸다. 전문가들은 이 기기가 보급될 경우 의사들의 진료 활동에 혁명적인
효과를 거둘것으로 예상하고 있다. 나노는 10억분의 1이라는 의미.
특히 뜻하지 않게 정쟁에 휘말린 병리학회는 상처입은 자존심을 되찾기 위해서라도 철저한 진상 규명과 책임 소재를 가려내야 한다.

그런데 이런 병리학 의사들의 자존심을 크게 구기는 일이 벌어졌다.

pathological coupling : 병리학적 커플링
cirrhosis (경변, 경변증) 병리학적으로는 정상의 현미경적 소엽 구조의 상실을 특징으로 하
는 간질 환으로 섬유증과 결절성 재생을 수반한다. 이 용어는 때때로 다른 기관의 만성 간
질성 염증에도 사용된다.
cytopathology (세포 병리학적)
keratinization (각화) 각화란 케라틴 형성 과정으로서 이는 케라틴 형성 세포내에서 일어나
며, 이 과정은 상피 표피층에서 표면의 stratum corneum까지 상방으로 케라틴 형성이 진행
된다. 이 과정은 정상적으로 저작동안에 촉촉한 구강 점막에서도 일어난다. 병리학적인 변화
(각질)는 자가 우성 유전자나 환경적인 외상으로 인해 일어날 수 있다. 환경적 요인의 예로
서. 열이나 담배의 독소, 다른 발암 요인들을 들 수 있다.
neuropathy (신경 장애, 신경병증, 신경병) 말초신경의 기능장애나 병리학적 변화. 말초신경
계의 기능적 장애 및 또는 병적 변화를 나타내는 일반용어. 그 원인은 알려진 경우(비소성,
당뇨병성, 허혈성, 와상성)와 불명인 경우가 있다. 뇌병증 및 척수병증은 각각 뇌 및 척수의
침습과 관계된 대응 용어이다. 이 용어는 또한 말초신경계의 염증성 병변(신경염)과 대조적
으로 비염증성 병변을 나타내는데에도 사용된다.
pathologic (병적, 병리학적) 질환을 나타내거나 원인이 되는. 1. indicative of or caused by
a morbid condition. 2. pertaining to pathology (= branch of medicine that treats the
essential nature of the disease, especially the structural and functional changes in tissues
and organs of the body caused by the disease).
