Finding evidence doesn't always mean a criminal will be convicted.
Proving that a person is guilty or innocent of a crime is the job of lawyers.
One of the most famous lawyers of all time was Clarence Darrow.
Darrow was very famous in America around the start of the twentieth century.
He often defended people who were thought to be guilty and took on many unpopular cases.
In particular, he defended poor people who usually would not be able to afford a good lawyer.
During trials, he was a great speaker and argued very well.
He won many cases, even when the evidence was against him.

Computer crime has become a big problem of the world that is likely to continue far into the future.
Computer criminals are often quite different from other kinds of criminals.
According to some experts, these criminals seem to lock themselves away from other people and live in their own fantasy “microworlds.”
They are also generally quite young.
They break into others' computers in order to steal, add, or change information.
For many of them, this is a kind of game, a part of their fantasy life.
However, it is a dangerous “game,” and, as a result, many individuals and corporations are very concerned about computer security.

The best way to cut down on the number of abortions is not to treat doctors and women as criminals.

The problems of the nation's cities―pollution, crime, riots, a lack of planning, transportation―are bad, but they were worse in the so-called "good old days," according to Dr. Charles Adrian.

In many countries, overcrowded cities face a major problem.
This has been mainly caused by the drift of large numbers of people from the rural areas.
These people have become dissatisfied with the traditional life of farming, and have come to the cities hoping for better work and pay.
Unfortunately, however, poor conditions in the urban areas, such as lack of housing, worsening sanitation and unemployment, bring about an increase in poverty, disease and crime.

If you will ask some one who has at some time acted in a manner for which
he would be punished if it became known, you will find that when discovery
seemed imminent, the person in question repented of his crime. I do not
say that this would apply to the professional thief who expects a certain
amount of prison as a trade risk, but it applies to what may be called
the respectable offender, such as the bank manager who has embezzled in
a moment of stress, or the clergyman who has been tempted by passion into
some sexual irregularity. Such men can forget their crime when there seems
little chance of detection, but when they are found out or in grave danger
of being so, they wish they had been more virtuous, and this wish may give
them a lively sense of the enormity of their sin.

above taking home an office pen.

The purpose of the court system is to protect the rights of the people.
For example, according to American law, if someone is accused of a crime,
he is considered innocent until the court proves that the person is
guilty. In other words, it is the responsibility of the court to prove
that a person is guilty.

One doctor in the USA, Dr. Jack Kavorkian, has become well-known for his assisted suicides.

While DNA makes headlines by exonerating people of crimes they were convicted of years ago, the same technique is enabling police across the country to track down and put away criminals who might otherwise have gone free.

For people who are looking for fun and adventure, there is the Mystery
Express, which runs from New York to Montreal, Canada. This trip
interests people who love Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, and Miss
Marple. It's for people who have always secretly dreamed of being a
private eye and solving mysteries. The passengers on board have the
opportunity to solve a murder mystery right there on the train. In the
middle of the night, for instance, there might be a gunshot; soon
everyone learns that there has been a “murder,” and they spend the
rest of the trip playing detective. They track down clues, exchange this
information and their opinions, and solve the whodunit by the time the
train has pulled into Mon- treal. Of course, no real crime takes place.
The “murderer” and several pas- sengers are actually actors. The trip
is a very creative weekend game.
Sherlock Homes, Hercule Poirot, Miss

A survey studied the differences between teenage boys' and girls' reading habits.
According to the report, many more girls(77%) than boys(6%) read fashion and beauty magazines.
More boys(47%) than girls(7%) read magazines about video games, but an equal amount of each likes to read adventure stories and newspapers.
Girls also read more material about celebrities and social issues such as crime, drugs, or poverty.
Boys, on the other hand, read more about sports.

so, he said it was just a sprain, and that was it.
Uh, you left out the stupid part.
Not stupid.
The very cute, cute, cute doctors asked us out for tomorrow
night, and I said "yes."
I think it's totally insane, I mean, they work for the hospital.
It's like returning to the scene of the crime.

Do you really think Marty Spinella is to blame?
Whether Mr. Spinella is behind this or not,
he might wanna tone down the rhetoric,
before disorganized labor turns into organized crime.

- Look, I apologised.
- You don't get it, do you?
- You've committed a serious crime.
- Officer, please.
Clearly he's upset. We both are.
If you could just give us a break, please.
1-Mary-38. That emergency call was placed at that location approximately 30 minutes ago.
Copy. Thanks.
That still doesn't justify you disobeying a police officer.
Idiot!

We scrutinize the crime scene, collect the evidence,
re-create what happened without actually ever being there.
Pretty cool, actually.
I just got out of the Academy? I already know this...
Of course you do.

We are the #2 Crime Lab in the country.
We solve crimes; most labs render unsolvable.
Now, what makes you think you belong here?
Sir, with all due respect, I thought
the key to being a "lucid" crime scene investigator was to reserve judgment
until the evidence vindicates or eliminates assumption.
You're pre-judging me.

Ma'am, I told you. If you let them in, it will contaminate the scene.
Oh! CONTAMINATE, MY ASS! WHAT THE HELL DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
YOU AIN'T GONNA CATCH'M. YA NEVER DO!

Hi. Nick Stokes. Criminalistics. Mind if I check you out...
...I, I don't know what happened.
I remember the song I was playing on the radio. I just don't remember
passing out.

POLICE! PUT YOUR HANDS ON TOP OF YOUR HEAD!
WALK BACKWARDS TOWARDS ME!
I'M I.D., CHECK MY BADGE. I'M FROM CRIMINALISTICS!
KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS!
NOW GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES!
I ain't gettin' down on my knees for nobody. You can shoot me...
I said get down on your knees --

Miss, I'm Catherine Willows from Criminalistics.

Morning, Gil Grissom. Forensics.
I'm taking over the case for Warrick Brown. Mind if I come in?

when an on-duty Las Vegas Criminalist was brutally gunned down.

Do you know how many times
I've been left alone at a crime scene when I was a rookie?
Yeah, well, this time is different.
Yeah, why's that?
Holly Gribbs died on the operating table twenty minutes ago.

What are you going to say? "Hi, I'm a Criminalist.
- I was in the neighborhood ... " - Shh. It's ringing.

Mr. Carlton, we're not detectives. We're crime scene analysts.
We're trained to ignore verbal accounts
and rely instead on the evidence a scene sets before us.
But I have to be honest with you, Red ...
I believe you.
I do.

Now, the funny thing is if Ted didn't come back to the room
then why were presidential carpet fibers found in the band of his brand-new watch?
'Cause he did come back.
And you do the smart thing:
After you throw him over the balcony you cleaned up the crime scene.
You left blood-soaked towels in plain sight.
Your alibi?
The blood came from Ted's forearms.

You violated the policies and procedures for clearing a scene.
I read Sara's report.
I know.
알아요
I messed up.
And Holly's dead.
I'm sorry, Gil.
I'm sorry, too.
I don't want to do this.
You got to.

We're forensic scientists, Julia.
Blood talks to us.
People exaggerate. Or forget.
Blood's like my grandfather. He never lies.
Nick re-enacted the crime using the blood spatter...
I just strung it.
Thank you anyway.

They told me you were the top forensic artist in the country...
And Canada.
I didn't say I couldn't do it.
Give me your hand.
You'll enjoy this.

Excuse me, no one is allowed inside the tape.
I saw what happened.
Have you talked to the police?
Police make me nervous. You guys aren't cops, are you?
We're crime scene investigators.
And we need to know what you saw.

Can I help you?
Ma'am, my name is Gil Grissom. This is Nick Stokes.
Hi. / Honey,
who's out there?
Mr. Hendler. We're criminalist. We're with Lasvegas Police Department.
What's this about?
We're investigating the disappearnce of Fay Green.
May we come in?
Yes.

Thank you.

This is now a fresh crime scene.

Sara. Those pictures, blown up, times ten.
Tell the lab that we need every forensic tool available to us here right away.
This is the only crime scene in Las Vegas tonight.
Yes, sir.

The news bim's waiting for you.
Thinks you have an "interesting look."
Gil, any truth to the rumor that a cult may have committed these crimes?
I don't know that.
But you wouldn't rule it out.
I don't rule anything out.

Mr. Grissom.
Sheriff.
서장님
The Mayor has already called. So what have you got?
Nothing.
I'm not asking you to lay out your whole case,
just give me something I can run with.
I have got to feed the press and diffuse the panic.
As soon as I have something, you'll have something.
Here's a thought,
why don't you try being more like Ecklie?
I could speak volumes about Conrad Ecklie.
But I have a crime scene to process. So
you have to excuse me...

Sophisticated criminal, heh?
This is the get away vehicle.
tossing it in his own trash. What else is new.
