무거운 물건. 배를 움직이지 않게 하는 고정하는 역할로 어떤 일
에 있어서 대들보가 되는 사람. 중요한 역할을 하는 사람의 뜻이
되죠.
라디오나 텔레비젼에서 특파원 보고나 지방국으로 부터의 보도
자료를 종합하는 중앙 방송국 아나운서나 뉴스 해설자를 일컬어
서 anchor라고 합니다. 닻이 배 아래에서 버티고 있는 것처럼 말
이죠.
육상 경기에서 마지막 주자를 achor man이라고 하는 것도 무리가
아닐것입니다. 아무리 잘 달려도 마지막 주자의 활약에 따라 그
경기가 달라 지기 때문이죠.
대들보 역할을 하는 사람. 중요한 사람을 anchor man이라고 함.

Ａ： teleprompter 라고 하는 것은 원래 상표명인데 텔레비전 출연자
에게 대본을 확대시켜서 보여 주는 장치를 뜻하지요. 이 장치는 보통
무대의 반대편 카메라 위치에 위치해 있기 때문에 카메라에는 비치지
않지요. 여러분이 저녁에 9시 뉴스를 볼 때 앵커들이 얘기를 할 때 보
면 시청자를 쳐다보면서 이야기를 하는 것 같지요. 그런데 가끔 그것
을 신기하게 생각하지 않으셨습니까? 뉴스 진행을 할 때에는 대체로
teleprompter를 사용합니다. 그래서 teleprompter에는 원고를 카메라
쪽에 설치를 해 놓으니까 읽을수가 있지요. 카메라 바로 옆에 설치를
해 놓으면 시야가 크게 벗어나지 않습니다. 그래서 시청자들이 볼때에
는 카메라를 보는 것처럼 느껴지지 마련이지요. 가끔 대통령이 연설을
한다거나 이럴 때에도 전혀 원고를 안보고 이야기하는 것처럼 보일 때
가 있지요? 이럴 때에는 teleprompter를 쓰는 경우가 있습니다. 그리
고 two way mirror라고 하는 것은 우선 one way mirror를 아시죠? 한
쪽에만 거울을 대고 상대방 쪽에서는 보이지 않는 것이요. 나는 상대
방을 볼 수 있는데 상대방은 나를 볼 수 없는 경우에 one way mirro라
