예고편(Trailer)
앞으로 공개될 신작 영화에 대한 주요 장면을 대략 90초 내외로 압축하여, 관객들의 호기심
을 유발시키는 광고 전략의 하나가 예고편이다.
애초 이 트레일러라는 말은 동시상영(Double Feature)으로 공개되는 영화중 첫 번째로 상영
되는 것을 지칭하는 용어에서 도입되었다.
근래 들어서 영화 산업의 발달로 인해 이 예고편의 형식도 다양하게 분화됐는데 현재 할리
우드에서 자주 통용되는 '트레일러'라는 용어를 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
- 티저 트레일러(Teaser Trailer)
: 극장에서 개봉되는 예고편. 대개 반년 전부터 상영, 관객들의 입소문을 유발시킨다.
- 피기백(Piggyback), 어태치먼트 (Attachment)
: A라는 영화의 예고편은 통상적으로 전혀 다른 B영화가 상영될 앞부분에 트는 것이 상례.
그러나 A라는 신작영화 앞에 붙이는 당사자 예고편 A가 어태치먼트이다.
- 그린 밴드(Green Band)
: 일반 드라마나 홈코미디물의 예고편을 지칭하는 말.
- 레드 밴드(Red Band)
: 성인용 영화의 예고편.
- 스페셜 슈트(Special Shoot)
: 극장에서는 공개가 되지 않는 예고편만을 위해 특별 제작된 장면.
- 커트 다운(Cut Down)
: 극장용 예고 필름을 30초 내외로 다시 축약시켜 TV용으로 방영하는 예고편.
