기재부 관계자는 "수술용, 보건용 마스크 수입에 필요한 식품의약품안전처 수입 허가도 최대한 신속하게 진행할 계획"이라며 "MB필터를 무관세로 수입해 마스크 생산기업의 부담도 완화될 것"이라고 말했다.
An official from the Ministry of Economic and Finance said, "We plan to proceed with the import permit from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, required for importing surgical and health masks, as quickly as possible," adding, "We will also ease the burden on mask production companies by importing MB filters exempt from tariffs."
정부는 이번 조치로 수술·보건용 마스크 관세 부담이 없어져 국내 공급 여력이 확대되고 MB필터 수입 무관세로 마스크 생산기업 부담도 완화할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
The government expects that this measure will eliminate the burden of tariffs on masks for surgery and health, which will increase domestic supply capacity and ease the burden on mask production companies due to tariff-free import of MB filter.
Aaron said it was unlikely that proposal would be approved at the
upcoming ministerial meeting, but he was optimistic an agreement could
be reached before the next WTO ministerial meeting in three years.

이 허용된다.
In the late 1950s a watch-assembly industry sprang up in the U.S. Virgin Islands in
response to a tariff incentive permitting duty-free entry of U.S. insular products. By
1965 duty-free watch shipments from the Virgin Islands accounted for more than 10
percent of U.S. consumption of watches, prompting Congress to place a ceiling on
insular watches at that level. Even under this restriction, the industry became an
important contributor to the economic health of not only the Virgin Islands but Guam
and American Samoa as well.
1950년대 말 미국의 시계조립산업은 미국 도서지방 제품에 대한 무관
세 통관혜택으로 버진군도에서 비약적으로 성장했다. 버진군도의 무관세
시계반입은 1965년까지 미국전체 소비의 10%이상을 점유하였으며, 이에 따라
의회는 도서지방으로부터의 시계반입 한도를 그 수준으로 책정하게 되었
다. 이러한 제한하에서도 시계조립산업은 버진군도뿐 아니라 괌 및 미국
사모아 군도의 경제활성화에 중요하게 기여하였다.
