엠본(MBONE): MulticastBONE의 줄임말. 실시간데이터 전송 기술의
하나로 화상회의나 원격교육 등의 분야에서 주로 활용된다. '엠본'은
동일한 멀티미디어 데이터를 특정 가상망에 참여하는 모든 사람들에게
동시에 전송하는 것이 특징. 따라서 대용량의 멀티미디어 데이터를 전송
받을 때 발생하는 체증현상을 크게 해소할수 있다.

ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode):비동기 전송방식. 전송하려는 정보를
셀(Cell)이라고 부르는 고정길이가 짧은 패킷으로 분할해 비동기로 고속
전송하는 방식이다. 이 전송방식의 교환시스템을 이용하면 음성이나 화상
등의 멀티미디어를 한꺼번에 통합해 전송할 수 있다.

MAN(Metropolitan Area Network):도시지역통신망. 도시내 혹은 도시간에
구축되는 네트워크 시스템. 직경 50 ㎞ 정도의 지역에서 수만명이 이용할 수
있는 것으로 문자 뿐 아니라 음성, 영상 등의 멀티미디어도 다룰 수 있다.

Digital music gadgets first made a splash last fall when Diamond
Multimedia introduced the Rio, a portable device that allows users to
transfer MP3 files off the Internet onto their personal computer, and
then store them and play them back on the portable gizmo. The Rio and
other devices like it can hold the equivalent of one hour of music, the
length of one CD.

Multimedia)사가 '리오(Rio)'란 이름으로 출시하면서 주목을 받기 시작했다.

Ostrofsky owns Multimedia Publishing Corp., which published
telecommunications magazines and ran trade shows. He sold those
businesses recently to Primedia for $35 million and said he planned to
use that money to start Web companies. He was planning a
business-oriented Internet site using business.com but also was willing
to sell the name and shopped it around.
사상 최고 가격에 도메인이름을 판 오스트로프스키씨는 통신 잡지를 발간하고
무역전시회를 기획하는 멀티미디어 퍼블리싱을 소유하고 있다가 최근 3천5백

"You've got to know when to hold them and when to fold them," he said,
adding that he believed Winebaum would do a better job developing a Web
site than he would. He and Winebaum said there were several bidders for
the domain, though they would not name them. Ostrofsky, 38, said he owns
more than 100 domain names, most obtained for just $70.

Direct for $25,000 plus 50 cents from every transaction made on the site.

달업체 플라워즈 다이렉트(Flowers Direct)에 현금 2만5천 달러와 매 거래당

As part of the deal, Ostrofsky's wife will get flowers once a month for
the rest of her life.

MMS(multimedia messaging service): 멀티미디어 메시징 서비스
이동전화에서 color photograph, animation, audio 및 moving picture (동영상)을 문자와 함께 송수신할 수 있는 service. 각종 그림, music file, video clip 등을 mobile phone으로, 또는 mobile phone과 PC (personal computer)를 통해 주고 받을 수 있는 MMS는 현재 활성화돼 있는 SMS (short messaging service, 단문메시지서비스)를 발전시켜 multimedia data transmission까지 가능하게 하는 것으로, 특히 third generation (3세대) 이동통신서비스가 시작되면 이동통신의 핵심 서비스로 자리잡을 전망이다.

SIP UA 기반 착신 전환 및 금지 설계에 대한 연구
A Study on the Design of Call Forwarding and Rejection Based on SIP UA
인터넷 전화는 음성통화를 기존 전화망이 아닌 인터넷을 통해 이용할 수 있는
새로운 통신기술로 인터넷 전화를 이용하면 거리에 제약 없이 전화서비스를
적은 비용으로 이용할 수 있으며, 확장된 멀티미디어 서비스가 가능하다.
인터넷 전화가 기존 전화망을 대체하기 위해 품질 개선, 과금 문제, 부가서비스
기능 등이 해결되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 SIP-Working Group에서 제안한
인터넷 전화 접속관리 프로토콜 SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)를 이용하여
부가서비스로 활용 가능한 통화 관련 기능 중 착신전환 기능과 자동 연결 기능,
사생활 관련 기능 중 착신금지 기능과 개별 통화 수신 거부 기능을 SIP UA(User
Agent) 기반으로 제안하고 설계 하였다.
Internet phone service is a new service technology that provides voice call
services through Internet not through the pre-existing PSTN. It enables a
cheap voice call service regardless of distance. We may expect that the
Internet phone service may substitute for the voice call service through
the PSTN, but not in a short period.
There are several problems to be solved for this transition, such as, voice
call quality, numbering scheme, billing, standardization, and support of
several functions. In this paper, we provided and designed a UA (User
Agent) that can support functions regarding voice call, such as call
forwarding, auto-connection, call rejection and restriction of individual
call, using SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) which is proposed by
SIP-Working Group as the standard Internet phone service management protocol.
