→「아무리 생각해도 ~다」는 「실로 ~다」, 「정말로 ~다」와 같은 식으로 처리해서 다음의 동종의 표현을 참고로 해서 영작하도록 한다.

나오지 않는 표현일 겁니다. 이럴 때 확실히 잡아놓으세요.

2. Ticket box: 매표소를 말합니다. Box office도 같은 말이지만,
"영화 흥행"을 가리키는 말로도 쓰이지요.
3. Biting her lips as if to swear: 마치 무엇무엇하는 것처럼에
해당하는 표현이 나왔습니다.

두들겨 패기라도 할 듯이 소매를 걷어부쳤다.
4. Come my way: 내 길로 오는 거니까, 내게 닥칠 것이라는 말입니다.

나한테 불행한 일들이 줄줄이 일어날 줄 알았다니까.
5. Grumbling: Grumble은 툴툴대는 걸 말합니다. 단어 자체가
정말 "툴툴대는" 것 처럼 들리는 것 같아요.
6. God would strike me down if I was lying: 미국인들도 우리와
생각이 통하는 부분이 많습니다. "거짓말이면 벼락맞는다"는 말입니다.
7. The second showing of the movie: 영화 회수를 말할 때
showing을 씁니다.
8. We were denied admission: 입장이 중단됐다는 말이지요. 접근
금지였다고 하면,

9. Hell of a day: Hell of something은 이중의 뜻을 같습니다.
상황에 따라 "정말 거지같은"의 뜻이기도 하지만 어떨 때는 "정말
죽여주는"의 뜻이기도 합니다.
예를 들어,

이럴 때는 상황으로 미루어 볼 때, 죽여주는 여자를 만났다는 말이겠지요.

Westwood
