The jobs that most companies are doing with information today would have been impossible several years ago.
At that time, getting rich information was very expensive,
and the tools for analyzing it weren't even available until the early 1990s.
But now the tools of the digital age give us a way to easily get, share, and act on information in new ways.

In 1986, the BBC developed the Domesday Project.
It was named after the Domesday Book which had been made to register the lands of the British in the 11th century.
The project's purpose was to store information on life in Britain in the 1980s in the form of digital data.
A lot of video clips, texts, maps, and pictures showing British people’s lives were stored in dozens of laser discs.
But now after 18 years, the data in the laser discs are unreadable.
By contrast, the original Domesday Book is in fine condition.
“The Domesday Project has become an example of the problem of digital data storage,” said a computer expert.
“We're lucky Shakespeare didn't write on an old PC.”

인터캐스트(intercast):PC를 TV겸용으로 만드는 신기술. PC로
TV프로그램을 보면서 인터넷 정보도 찾아볼수 있도록 한 것으로

스트리밍을 지원한다.
엠펙-4 파트14 파일들의 공식적인 파일 확장자명은 .mp4이고
따라서 이 컨테이너 포맷을 간단하게 MP4라고 말하는 경우가 흔하다.
