다이옥신(dioxin):플라스틱등이 탈 때 발생되는 유독물질로 일부는
청산가리보다 1만배나 높은 독성을 보인다. 월남전 당시 사용된 고엽제
성분중 한가지로 알려져 있으며 간암 기형아 출산의 원인등으로 지적되면서
최근 세계보건기구(WHO)에서는 발암물질로 판정했다. 또 다이옥신에
노출되면 남성 고환의 크기가 작아지고 정자수가 감소하며 동물실험에서
바이러스 감염률을 높이고 자궁 뇌막염을 일으키는것으로도 알려져 있다.
또 칼레트라와 인터페론 베타-1b는 동물실험에서 바이러스 부하를 줄이고 폐 병리를 개선시키는 것으로 확인됐다.
