실물자산 채권이란 부동산과 천연자원, 인프라 등을 소유하거나 운영하는 기업이 발행한 투자등급 회사채와 대출채권 등을 말한다.

금융감독원이 16일 발표한 '2019년 12월 말 보험회사 대출채권 현황' 자료에 따르면 지난해 말 기준 보험회사의 대출채권 규모는 234조7000억원으로 2018년 말보다 11조2000억원 늘었다.

조영현 보험연구원 연구위원은 "보험사의 대출채권은 다른 자산에 비해 수익률이 높은 반면 리스크는 낮다"며 "저금리 환경에서 보험사가 대출채권 비중을 확대할 유인이 크다"고 설명했다.
Cho Young-hyun, a researcher at the Korea Insurance Research Institute, said, "Insurance companies' loan bonds have higher returns than other assets, while risks are low," adding, "In a low-interest environment, insurers are highly motivated to expand the portion of loan bonds."
금융위원회는 12일 기업과 감사인이 코로나19 사태에 따른 대출채권·매출채권 등 금융상품 예상 손실을 재무제표에 반영할 경우 정부 지원 조치 등을 종합적으로 고려할 것을 당부했다.
