[比較] bring, fetch, carry, take
fetch는 「…에 가서 가지고 오다」라는 뜻을 나타낸다. 다시 말해서 무엇을 가지고 오기 전에 일단 그 곳을 떠난다는 뜻을 내포한다.
Fetch me a jug of water.
bring은 다만 「가지고 오다」는 뜻으로 「…가서」란 뜻은 내포하지 않는다.

carry는 흔히 무엇인가를 신체의 일부(특히 손)를 이용해서 운반하는 경우에 쓰인다.
take는 「가지고 가다, 데리고 가다」란 뜻으로 bring의 반대어가 된다.

sure와 certain은 흔히 바꿔 쓸 수 있다. 그러나 sure는 단순하고 일반적인 말로, 의심 또는 주저함이 없는 것을 암시한다. 즉, 다만 주관적인 확신의 상태를 강조할 뿐이다. 한편 certain은 특별한 근거·증거에 의한 확신을 강하게 암시한다. 따라서 certain이 한결 뜻이 강한 말이다.
I am sure(certain) that he is honest./ He is sure(certain) to lose./ I felt for time sure of his innocence; I am now certain of his guilt.
sure와 certain은 이렇게 서술 용법에서 흔히 바뀌어 쓰일 수 있는데, 한정 용법에서 sure는 a sure aim(꼭 맞히는 겨냥)처럼 ‘확실한, 실수 없는’의 뜻이고, certain은 There is no certain cure for his disease.와 The soldier faced certain death.처럼 ‘믿을 수 있는, 피할 수 없는’의 뜻을 나타내기도 한다. 그러나 대개 A certain person phoned.와 He had a certain charm.에서처럼 ‘어떠한, 어떻다고 꼬집어 말할 수 없는’이라는 전혀 다른 뜻으로도 쓰인다.
confident는 특히 어떤 기대에 대한 확신(certainty, sureness)이 견고한 것, 굳은 신념을 강조한다.
He's confident he'll win./ We are confident of success./ He feels confident of passing(confident that he will pass) the examination.
positive는 특히 자기의 의견이나 결론이 정확하다는 확고한 신념, 거의 독단적이 될 정도의 신념의 암시한다.
Are you positive it was after midnight?/ He's too positive in his beliefs./ As I can't be certain, I won't be positive.(확실하지 않아서 단언하지 않으련다.) ~21
[比較] suspect, surmise, suppose, suspicion
suspect는 경멸적인 뜻을 가진 말로, 충분하지 않은 증거를 가지고서 또는 전혀 증거 없이 ‘(죄가 있다고, 거짓이라고, 가짜라고, 바람직하지 않다고, 흠이 있다고, 나쁘다고) 상상하다’를 의미한다.
They suspected him of cheating at cards, but there was nothing to justify an open accusation./ He suspected that there was sabotage in connection with the fire.
surmise에는 suspect같이 추한 함축된 뜻은 없다. 다만 확실한 또는 강력한 증거도 없이 ‘생각하다, 추측하다’의 뜻이다.
I surmised that you were his son from your striking resemblance to him. suspect는 surmise의 뜻을 나타낼 수도 있지만, 나쁜 뜻을 나타내려고 하지 않는 경우에는, 후자가 모호하지 않으므로 그것을 쓰는 것이 좋다.
suppose는 참이든 아니든 관계없이, 논의를 위해서 또는 결론을 찾아내기 위해서 ‘추측하다, 생각으로 기울다, 관념을 가지다’, 또한 가설적으로 ‘가정하다’는 의미이다.
Do you suppose that she wished to remain unmarried?/ The roads were no better than the old had supposed./ All right, suppose we do give him the money? What will happen then?
suspicion은 ‘의심, 미심, 수상함’의 의미하는 명사지만, 무식한 이들이 흔히 동사로 쓰는 수가 있다. 물론 비표준적 용법이며, 표준용법에서는 suspect를 써야 한다.

지 않고 빈둥거리는 것이며, idle은 아무런 일거리가 없어서 보탬이 되지
않는다는 의미이다. 이 예문의 경우는 lazy를 써야 한다.

Article 7 (Appending of Translation)
(1) In a case where a judicial cooperation is entrusted to a court or a
public office of a foreign country, the translation of the written
entrustment and other related documents in the official language of the
foreign country shall be appended: Provided, That if such official language
of the foreign country is not known, it may be allowed to append a
translation in English.

(2) The party shall append a translation to the entrustment-related
documents to a foreign country, which are to be submitted to the court

승인에 따라 그 외국에 주재하는 대한민국의 대사·공사 또는 영사를 실시기관으로

(3) In a case where a person to whom the related documents are to be
served, is a foreigner, and he entrusts the ambassador, minister or consul
of the Republic of Korea in the foreign country, that he is deemed as an
implementing agency, with a service thereof with the approval of the
foreign country under 2 of Article 5 (2) 2, the provisions of paragraphs
(1) and (2) shall apply mutatis mutandis to such documents to be served.

제15조 (준거법) 외국으로부터의 촉탁에 따른 수탁사항은 대한민국의 법률에
의하여 이를 실시한다. 다만, 외국법원이 특정방식에 의한 실시를 요청하는 경우
그 방식이대한민국의 법률에 저촉되지 아니하는 때에는 그 방식에 의한다.
Article 15 (Proper Law)
The matters entrusted by a foreign country shall be implemented in
conformity with the laws of the Republic of Korea : Provided, That in a
case where the foreign court requests to implement it through a specified
way, if such a way is not contrary to any law of the Republic of Korea, the
implementation shall be made in such a way.
제16조 (결과의 회신) ①외국으로부터의 촉탁이 송달촉탁의 경우에는
수탁법원의장이 송달결과에 관한 증명서를, 증거조사촉탁의 경우에는 수탁판사가
증인신문조서기타 증거조사의 결과를 기재한 조서 또는 증거조사가 불능하게 된

Article 16 (Reply on Result)
(1) If an entrustment made by a foreign country is one pertaining to
service, the head of the court which has accepted the entrustment, shall
send to the foreign court a certificate on the result of the service, and
if it concerns an entrustment pertaining to an examination on evidence, the
judge who has accepted the entrustment shall send to the foreign court, a
protocol specifying the inquiry of witness or the result of other
examinations on evidence, or a certificate specifying the reason why the
examination on evidence was impossible, respectively: Provided, That in a
case where the foreign court requests a reply made in a specified way, if
the way is not contrary to any law of the Republic of Korea, it shall be
made in such a way.
②제6조의 규정은 제1항의 규정에 의하여 서류를 송부하는 경우에 이를
준용한다.
(2) The provisions of Article 6 shall apply mutatis mutandis to a case
where the documents are sent under paragraph (1).
③체포·구속·압수 또는 수색을 할 때에는 적법한 절차에 따라 검사의 신청에 의하여 법관이 발부한 영장을 제시하여야 한다. 다만, 현행범인인 경우와 장기 3년이상의 형에 해당하는 죄를 범하고 도피 또는 증거인멸의 염려가 있을 때에는 사후에 영장을 청구할 수 있다.
(3) For arrest, detention, seizure or search a warrant issued by a judge in due process of law upon request of a prosecutor shall be presented: Provided, That in a case where a criminal suspect is an apprehended flagrante delicto, or where there is danger that a person suspected of committing a crime punishable by imprisonment of three years or more may escape or destroy evidence, investigation authorities may request an ex post facto warrant.
④누구든지 체포 또는 구속을 당한 때에는 즉시 변호인의 조력을 받을 권리를 가진다. 다만, 형사피고인이 스스로 변호인을 구할 수 없을 때에는 법률이 정하는 바에 의하여 국가가 변호인을 붙인다.
(4) Any person who is arrested or detained shall have the right to prompt assistance of counsel. When a criminal defendant is unable to secure counsel by his own efforts, the State shall assign counsel for the defendant as prescribed by Act.
제50조 ①국회의 회의는 공개한다. 다만, 출석의원 과반수의 찬성이 있거나 의장이 국가의 안전보장을 위하여 필요하다고 인정할 때에는 공개하지 아니할 수 있다.
Article 50
(1) The sessions of the National Assembly shall be open to the public: Provided, That when it is decided so by a majority of the members present, or when the Speaker deems it necessary to do so for the sake of national security, they may be closed to the public.
②공개하지 아니한 회의내용의 공표에 관하여는 법률이 정하는 바에 의한다.
(2) Public disclosure of the proceedings of sessions which were not open to the public shall be determined by Act.
제51조 국회에 제출된 법률안 기타의 의안은 회기중에 의결되지 못한 이유로 폐기되지 아니한다. 다만, 국회의원의 임기가 만료된 때에는 그러하지 아니하다.
Article 51
Bills and other matters submitted to the National Assembly for deliberation shall not be abrogated on the ground that they were not acted upon during the session in which they were introduced, except in a case where the term of the members of the National Assembly has expired.
②제1항의 탄핵소추는 국회재적의원 3분의 1이상의 발의가 있어야 하며, 그 의결은 국회재적의원 과반수의 찬성이 있어야 한다. 다만, 대통령에 대한 탄핵소추는 국회재적의원 과반수의 발의와 국회재적의원 3분의 2이상의 찬성이 있어야 한다.
(2) A motion for impeachment prescribed in paragraph (1) may be proposed by one third or more of the total members of the National Assembly, and shall require a concurrence of a majority of the total members of the National Assembly for passage: Provided, That a motion for the impeachment of the President shall be proposed by a majority of the total members of the National Assembly and approved by two thirds or more of the total members of the National Assembly.
제90조 ①국정의 중요한 사항에 관한 대통령의 자문에 응하기 위하여 국가원로로 구성되는 국가원로자문회의를 둘 수 있다.

(1) An Advisory Council of Elder Statesmen, composed of elder statesmen, may be established to advise the President on important affairs of state.

(2) The immediate former President shall become the Chairman of the Advisory Council of Elder Statesmen: Provided, That if there is no immediate former President, the President shall appoint the Chairman.

(3) The organization, function and other necessary matters pertaining to the Advisory Council of Elder Statesmen shall be determined by Act.
제102조 ①대법원에 부를 둘 수 있다.

(1) Departments may be established in the Supreme Court.
②대법원에 대법관을 둔다. 다만, 법률이 정하는 바에 의하여 대법관이 아닌 법관을 둘 수 있다.
(2) There shall be Supreme Court Justices at the Supreme Court: Provided, That judges other than Supreme Court Justices may be assigned to the Supreme Court under the conditions as prescribed by Act.

(3) The organization of the Supreme Court and lower courts shall be determined by Act.
제109조 재판의 심리와 판결은 공개한다. 다만, 심리는 국가의 안전보장 또는 안녕질서를 방해하거나 선량한 풍속을 해할 염려가 있을 때에는 법원의 결정으로 공개하지 아니할 수 있다.

(4) Military trials under an extraordinary martial law may not be appealed in case of crimes of soldiers and employees of the military; military espionage; and crimes as defined by Act in regard to sentinels, sentry posts, supply of harmful foods and beverages, and prisoners of war, except in the case of a death sentence.
부칙
ADDENDA
제1조 이 헌법은 1988년 2월 25일부터 시행한다. 다만, 이 헌법을 시행하기 위하여필요한 법률의 제정·개정과 이 헌법에 의한 대통령 및 국회의원의 선거 기타이 헌법시행에 관한 준비는 이 헌법시행전에 할 수 있다.
Article 1
This Constitution shall enter into force on the twenty-fifth day of February, anno Domini Nineteen hundred and eighty-eight: Provided, That the enactment or amendment of Acts necessary to implement this Constitution, the elections of the President and the National Assembly under this Constitution and other preparations to implement this Constitution may be carried out prior to the entry into force of this Constitution.
제4조 ①이 헌법시행 당시의 공무원과 정부가 임명한 기업체의 임원은 이 헌법에 의하여 임명된 것으로 본다. 다만, 이 헌법에 의하여 선임방법이나 임명권자가 변경된 공무원과 대법원장 및 감사원장은 이 헌법에 의하여 후임자가 선임될 때까지 그 직무를 행하며, 이 경우 전임자인 공무원의 임기는 후임자가 선임되는 전일까지로 한다.
Article 4
(1) Public officials and officers of enterprises appointed by the Government, who are in office at the time of the enforcement of this Constitution, shall be considered as having been appointed under this Constitution: Provided, That public officials whose election procedures or appointing authorities are changed under this Constitution, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection shall remain in office until such time as their successors are chosen under this Constitution, and their terms of office shall terminate the day before the installation of their successors.
②이 헌법시행 당시의 대법원장과 대법원판사가 아닌 법관은 제1항 단서의 규정에 불구하고 이 헌법에 의하여 임명된 것으로 본다.
(2) Judges attached to the Supreme Court who are not the Chief Justice or Justices of the Supreme Court and who are in office at the time of the enforcement of this Constitution shall be considered as having been appointed under this Constitution notwithstanding the proviso of paragraph (1).
③이 헌법중 공무원의 임기 또는 중임제한에 관한 규정은 이 헌법에 의하여 그 공무원이 최초로 선출 또는 임명된 때로부터 적용한다.
(3) Those provisions of this Constitution which prescribe the terms of office of public officials or which restrict the number of terms that public officials may serve, shall take effect upon the dates of the first elections or the first appointments of such public officials under this Constitution.

(a) Bars and rods

(d) Steel
“강(鋼)”이란 실용상 단조(鍛造)에 적합한 철재(주조 모양으로 제조된 것은 제외한다)로서, 탄소의 함유량이 전 중량의 100분의 2 이하인 것을 말하고, 제7203호의 철재는 제외한다. 다만, 크로뮴(chromium)강은 탄소의 함유량이 전 중량의 100분의 2를 초과하여 함유될 수 있다.

할로윈(Halloween)
할로윈 데이는 성자의 날(11월 1일) 바로 전날(10월의 마지막날)이다.
호박 속을 파서 만든 호박등이나 횃불을 들고 마녀와 귀신 분장을 한 의상행렬, 가장무도회가 벌어지는 할로윈 데이의 기원은 정확하지 않다. 다만 기독교가 전래되기 전 1세기 중반, 당시 영국에 살고 있던 켈트족의 정신적 지주였던 승려 드루이드 (Druid)에 의해 전파되었다는 것이 신학자들의 설명이다.
켈트족들은 마법에 걸린 사후의 인간 영혼은 드루이드가 섬기는 신(神)인 삼하인(Samhain)에 의해 구원 받을 수 있다고 믿었다. 삼하인은 인간의 죽음과 사 후 세계를 관장하는 죽음의 신. 당연히 두려움의 대상이었다. 켈트족들은 자신의 가족이나 친구 혹은 사랑하는 사람의 영혼이 구원을 받도록 하기 위해 동물을, 때로는 사람까지 희생 제물로 바치는 의식을 베풀었는데, 이 날이 바로 '할로윈 데이'의 기원이 되었다.
당시 사람들은 10월 31일에 겨울이 시작된다고 믿었다. 그리고 이날 열리는 삼하인 축제날에는 죽은 자들이 긴 겨울밤에 활동하기 위해 되살아난다고 생각했다. 즉, 유령이나 마귀, 마녀, 해적, 요정들이 인간을 대신해서 세상을 다스린다는 것. 이런 이유로 사람들은 가능한 바깥 출입을 삼가고 귀신들에게 자신들의 집을 볼품없게 보이게 위해 일부로 벽난로의 불을 꺼뜨리기도 했다.
한편 켈트족을 포함한 유럽인들은 11월1일을 '모든 성인(聖人)들의 날(All Hallow Day)'로 지켜왔기 때문에 언젠가부터 그 전날의 삼하인 축제를 '모든 성인들의 날 이브(All Hallows’Eve)'라는 명칭으로 바꾸어 부르기 시작했다. 그리고 이 말이 훗날 '할로윈(Halloween)'으로 바뀌어 오늘날에 이르게 된 것이다.
Neither party shall be liable to the other party for nonperformance
or delay in performance of any of its obligations under the
Agreement due to war, revolution, riot, strike or other labor
dispute, fire, flood, acts of government or any other causes
reasonably beyond its control. Upon the occurrence of such
a force majeure condition, the affected party shall immediately
notify the other party of any further developments.
Immediately after such conditions are removed, the affected
party shall perform all obligations with due speed.

10.2 You may not (and you may not permit anyone else to) copy, modify, create a derivative work of, reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Software or any part thereof, unless this is expressly permitted or required by law, or unless you have been specifically told that you may do so by Abc, in writing.

20.7 The Terms, and your relationship with Abc under the Terms, shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. You and Abc agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the county of Santa Clara, California to resolve any legal matter arising from the Terms. Notwithstanding this, you agree that Abc shall still be allowed to apply for injunctive remedies (or an equivalent type of urgent legal relief) in any jurisdiction.
20.7 ‘약관’, 그리고 ‘약관’상의 Abc와 귀하의 관계는 캘리포니아 주 법률(국제사법은 제외)의 적용을 받습니다. 귀하와 Abc는 ‘약관’으로부터 발생하는 모든 법적 문제를 해결하기 위하여 캘리포니아 산타 클라라(Santa Clara) 카운티 내에 소재하는 법원을 전속적 관할법원으로 하기로 합니다. 다만, 위 규정에 불구하고, 귀하는, Abc가 여전히 어느 국가에서든지 보전처분(또는 그에 상당하는 형태의 긴급한 법적 구제수단)을 신청할 수 있다는데 동의합니다.
