Notwithstanding, to our regret, the number of smokers in this
country has yet to decline. Some 70 percent of male adults, 3-4
percent of women and 40 percent of adolescents in Korea smoke. The
number of female and adolescent smokers is steadily growing at a rate
double the national population growth rate.

☞ watch ☜
[보다]라는 단어에는 see,look,watch 돛缺獵 이것을 구별해서
사용하는 것은 쉬운 일이 아니다. 한가지 기준은,see 는 [보다]의
가장 일반적인 단어로 [보인다]는 의미이고,look 에는 일부러 시선
을 돌린다는 느낌이 있다. 한편 watch는 사람아나 사물을 꾸준하게
추적하며 관찰한다는 기분이다. 그래서 Watch what you say.즉 [네
가 말하는 것을 관찰하라.][말투를 조심하라]는 뜻이다.
장소,사람에 관계없이 마구 욕하는 사람에게 곧잘 이말을 사용한
다. Watch your language. (말 조심하라) 가 있다.
Watch your step.은 넘어지지 않도록 발길을 조심하라는 뜻이다.

◆ see, watch, look
see 는 '보다'의 가장 일반적인 단어로 '보인다'는 의미입니다. 그리고 시력을
이용하여 ~ 을 알아채는 경우, 어느 정도 머리를 써야 하는 경우에 주로 씁니다.
I saw her to go out. :
그녀가 외출하는 것을 보았다. (그녀가 외출하는 것이 나의 눈에 보였다.)
I can't see anything. : 아무 것도 안 보인다.
watch 는 어떤 움직임이 있는 대상을 지켜보다 라는 뜻입니다. 그래서 사람이나
사물을 꾸준하게 추적하며 관찰한다는 느낌의 단어입니다.
Watch the children so they won't get hurt. :
아이들이 다치지 않도록 잘 지켜보아라.
I watched them playing baseball. :
나는 그들이 야구경기 하는 것을 지켜보았다.
그리고 look 은 시선에 중점이 있습니다. 일부러 시선을 돌려서 보다.
즉, 얼굴 혹은 눈이 그 쪽으로 향하는 경우에 씁니다.
Look at me. : 나를 쳐다봐라.
Look this way, please. : 이쪽을 보아주세요.
We looked but saw nothing. : 우리는 쳐다봤으나 아무것도 보이지 않았다
