YES와 NO의 대답이 문제되는 것은 바로 부정의문문의 경우입니다.
일상 대화의 대답에서 가장 많이 사용되는 것이 Yes와 No이지만
부정의문문의 경우, 우리 말의 관습대로 대답하면 전달하고자 하는
의미와는 정반대의 뜻이 되고 맙니다.
우리 말의 '예./아니오.'와 영어의 'Yes/No.'사이에 존재하는 사

우리말에서 "예."/"아니오."는 '상대가 말한 것'에 대한 긍정,부정
을 나타냅니다. 그러므로 상대가 부정으로 물어 보았더라도 "너의 말
을 긍정한다."는 의미로 "예."를 쓰고, 그 반대의 경우에 "아니오"를
쓰는 것입니다. 그런데 영어에서는 상대가 부정으로 물었던지 아니던
지 '자신의 의지'가 긍정이면 "Yes." 부정이면 "No."가 됩니다.
다시 말해서 ▶ 앞의 영어 예문은 대답이 모두 틀린 것입니다.
영화를 보러 가기 싫은 '자신의 의지'를 나타내기 위해서는 " No "를

PPL (Product Placement)에 대해서???
영화속의 광고라는 말입니다. 즉 광고할 상품(product)을 영화의 배경
이나 소품으로 배치(placement) 시켜서 간접적인 광고 효과는 노리는
것이 PPL이죠. 어떤 특정 상품이 나온 영화를 본 관객들은 그 상품을
나중에 실제로 볼 때 영화와 관련된 이미지를 떠올리게 되죠. 그리고
이런 이미지는 소비자들로 하여금 그 상품에 대해서 긍정적인 반응을
가지도록 유도하는데 이것이 바로 PPL기법이 노리는 효과죠. PPL의
역사는 미국의 경우 85년도 스티븐 스필버그 감독에 의해서 만들어
진 'E.T'에서 본격화가 되었습니다. 우리나라에서도 이 PPL기법을
이용한 영화나 드라마가 자주 눈에 띄는 경향이 있지요~~~

◆ beginner, apprentice, novice, neophyte~
1) beginner : 다섯 가지 말 중에 가장 격식을 차리지 않을 때 쓰는 말로 어떠한 사항을
배우려 하는데 시작한지 얼마 되지 않아 능숙하지 못 하다라는 뜻으로 느껴지는 부정의
의미가 가장 약합니다.

2) apprentice : 명장(대가)로부터 배우는 견습공을 일컫는 말로 보통 나이가 어린

그리고 사람에게 사용될 때는 신체의 전부보다는 일부를 일컫습니다. 좀 더 넓게 얘기해서
화려한 미사구나 장식 내지는 군더더기가 없다는 의미로도 사용됩니다.

감탄을 자아낼 수 있도록 만들어진 것을 뜻하여 옷을 입지 않은 상태의 풍만한 육체를
나타냅니다. nude는 naked보다 긍정적인 뜻으로 패션 디자이너들이 nude fashion (naked
fashion이라고는 절대 부르지 않습니다.)을 만들어 내기도 합니다. 같은 이유로 벗은 몸으로
자다라고 할 때 sleeping in the naked가 아닌 "sleeping in the nude"를 사용하시는 게 좋겠습니다.
4) stripped : 이 단어는 문자 그대로 번역하면 위의 세 단어와 같은 것을 뜻하나 상징적인 의미 로 "빼앗긴"으로도 자주 쓰입니다.

◆ too 와 very 의 차이
too : 너무, 지나치게, 대단히

일반적으로 too 의 경우 가상의 한계선을 생각할 때 그 선을 넘어선 경우를 나타낼 때 주로 사용합니다.
반대로 very 는 그 한계선을 넘지 않은 경우입니다.
It's too cold. - 너무 춥다. (견디기 힘들 정도)
It's very cold. - 너무 춥다. (그래도 조금은 견딜 만한 정도)
또한 too 는 약간의 부정적인 성향을 나타내고, very는 긍정적인, 좋은 뜻의 단어를 수식할 때 많이 씁니다.
