LIBOR는 국제금융거래에서 기준이 되는 금리로 미국, 영국, EU, 일본, 스위스 등이 지표금리로 활용했지만 현재 미국, 영국, EU 등은 무위험 지표금리를 신규 지표금리로 개발해 사용중이다.

외국인들은 코로나19로 국제금융시장이 혼란에 빠졌던 3월과 지난달에도 각각 7조4,000억원, 9조3,000억원의 채권을 순매수했다.
Foreigners did a straight purchase of the bonds worth KRW 7.4 trillion and KRW 9.3 trillion in March and last month, respectively when the international financial market was in turmoil due to COVID 19.

그러나 국제금융시장 전문가들은 일본이 정치적인 이유로 자금을 빼면 오히려 일본 은행들이 위기에 몰릴 것이라며 '지나친 상상력'이라고 일축하는 분위기다.
International financial market experts, however, seem to dismiss it as 'excessive imagination', saying that if Japan withdraws funds for political reasons, Japanese banks will be in crisis.

보고서를 작성한 이아랑 한국은행 경제연구원 국제경제연구실 차장과 박상은 한국은행 국제국 국제금융연구팀 조사역은 "경상수지 개선은 선진국보다는 신흥국에서 환율 변동성을 완화하는 영향이 나타났으며 장기적으로 실질환율을 절상시키는 효과를 보였다"고 밝혔다.
Lee A-rang, Deputy Director of the International Economics Team at the Bank of Korea's Economic Research Institute, and Park Sang-eun, a researcher at International Finance Research Team at the Bank of Korea's International Department, who wrote the report, said, "The current account improvement has had the effect of easing exchange rate volatility in emerging economies rather than in advanced countries, and it has shown to appreciate the real exchange rate in the long run."

기재부는 "코로나19 확산에 따른 국제금융시장 불안에 대응해 은행들이 3월 중 미리 외화 유동성을 확보하기 위해 차입을 늘려 대외채무가 늘었다"고 설명했다.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance explained, "In response to the instability in the international financial market caused by the spread of Corona 19, external debt increased as banks increased borrowing in March to secure foreign currency liquidity in advance."

금융위원회와 금융감독원은 6일 한국거래소, 국제금융센터, 증권사 관계자가 참석한 가운데 김태현 금융위 사무처장 주재로 '코로나19 금융상황 점검회의'를 열고 이같이 강조했다.
The Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service held a meeting, on the 6th, titled "Inspection on the Financial Situation amid COVID-19", presided over by Kim Tae-hyun, secretary general of the Financial Services Commission, attended by officials from Korea Exchange, the Korea Center for International Finance, and securities firms.

한은은 국제금융시장에 대해 "미중 무역협상 진전 등으로 대체로 안정된 모습을 나타냈으나 최근 중동지역의 군사적 긴장 고조로 변동성이 일시 확대됐다"고 평가했다.
Regarding the international financial market, the Bank of Korea said, "It has been generally stable due to progress in U.S.-China trade negotiations, but volatility has temporarily expanded due to the recent escalation of military tensions in the Middle East."

김 차관은 영국 경제지인 파이낸셜타임즈 기사를 인용, 미국 국채 시장의 불안에 대해 지적하며 이러한 불안이 국제금융시장으로 전이되는 것에 우려를 나타냈다.
Citing an article in the Financial Times, a British business magazine, Vice Minister Kim expressed concern over the spread of such anxiety to the international financial market, pointing to unrest in the U.S. government bond market.

이날 회의엔 산업통상자원부 차관과 한국은행 부총재보, 금융위원회 상임위원, 금융감독원 부원장, 국제금융센터 원장 등이 참석했다.
The meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Korea, standing members of the Financial Services Commission, Vice President of the Financial Supervisory Service, and Director of the International Financial Center.

이는 한국이 외환 안전판을 추가했다는 강한 신호를 국제금융시장에 줄 것이다.
This will give a strong signal to the international financial market that Korea has added a safeguard for foreign exchange reserves.

단기외채는 국제금융시장의 변동성이 커지면 급격히 빠져나갈 수 있다.
Short-term foreign debt can be escaped rapidly if volatility in the international financial market increases.

재택근무가 의무 사항은 아니지만, 이러한 권고는 IMF 본부 직원 2,000여명뿐만 아니라 세계은행(WB)과 국제금융공사(IFC) 등의 직원 1만6,000명에게도 영향을 미칠 전망이다.
Although working from home is not mandatory, this recommendation is expected to affect about 2,000 employees at the IMF headquarters as well as 16,000 at the World Bank (WB), International Finance Corporation (IFC), etc.
