[比較] sure, certain, confident, positive
I am sure(certain) that he is honest./ He is sure(certain) to lose./ I felt for time sure of his innocence; I am now certain of his guilt.
There is no certain cure for his disease.와 The soldier faced certain death. 그러나 대개 A certain person phoned.와 He had a certain charm.
He's confident he'll win./ We are confident of success./ He feels confident of passing(confident that he will pass) the examination.
Are you positive it was after midnight?/ He's too positive in his beliefs./ As I can't be certain, I won't be positive.(확실하지 않아서 단언하지 않으련다.) ~21

Ex) Don't worry. I won't betray your secret. My lips are sealed.

Why won't he give me a tumble?
* tumble : a response indicating interest, affection, etc.

* bring up : "(말이나 얘기를) 끄집어내다"
A : Something tells me that this plan won't work out very well. What do you think?

B: All right if you insist.
cf) This will spoil your appetite.
This will whet(pep up) your appetite.

You will pay for it!
* You won't get away with this!
'너 나중에 두고 보자'란 뜻이다. won't는 will not의 준말인데
그리고 I'll get even.
된다. get even은 '똑같이 된다.'
Let's wait and see. 또는
It remains to be seen

My gut tells me that it won't work.

I have a feeling that∼ ,
I have a hunch that∼, Something tells me that∼ ,
My gut feeling is that∼ , My gut feeling is that∼ 등으로

그래서 to fly the coop는 '탈옥하다, 도망가다'입니다.

-
to coop up은 감금하다는 의미를 가집니다.

She won't open her mind. (X)
'not open one's mind'는
① She doesn't have an open mind.(그녀는 마음이 넓지 못해.)
② She won't look at both sides of the issue.
③ Nothing will change her mind.(무엇으로도 그녀의 마음을 바꿀 수 없어.)

Finding evidence doesn't always mean a criminal will be convicted.
Proving that a person is guilty or innocent of a crime is the job of lawyers.
One of the most famous lawyers of all time was Clarence Darrow.
Darrow was very famous in America around the start of the twentieth century.
He often defended people who were thought to be guilty and took on many unpopular cases.
In particular, he defended poor people who usually would not be able to afford a good lawyer.
During trials, he was a great speaker and argued very well.
He won many cases, even when the evidence was against him.
