tour는 수학여행이나 관광여행 또는 시찰여행처럼 여기저기 예정된 여러 곳을 돌아다니는 목적을 가진 여행에 쓰인다.

travel은 여행의 총칭으로 쓰이며 「한 장소에서 다른 장소로의 이동」에 초점을 두었으며 trip처럼 출발점에 돌아온다는 전제는 없으며, 여행거리의 장단과도 관계가 없다.

The Glomar Challenger completed 96 voyages in a 15-year research program
