Pen designers must be aware of hundreds of requirements.
Make the pen too thin, and it will not be strong enough to stand up to the hard use of schoolchildren.
Make the middle section too thick, and it can neither be grasped properly by the fingers nor controlled with enough precision.
However, people with arthritic hands may need a thick body because they can't close their fingers entirely.
And what of those who use the pen as a measuring device or as a mechanical instrument to poke, stab, and twist?
For example, the instructions for the clock in my automobile say to set it by pressing the recessed button with the tip of a ball-point pen.

Nor do I deny that money, up to a certain point, is very capable of
increasing happiness; beyond that point, I do not think it does so.

The newspapers printed the story before the government could cover it up.

I think what has chiefly struck me in human beings is their lack of
consistency. I have never seen people all of a piece. It has amazed me
that the most incongruous traits should exist in the same person and
for all that yield a plausible harmony. I have known crooks who were
capable of self-sacrifice, sneak thieves who were sweet-natured, and
harlots for whom it was a point of honor to give good value for money.

The root of the trouble springs from too much emphasis upon competitive
success as the main source of happiness. I do not deny that the feeling
of success makes it easier to enjoy life.
A painter, let us say, who has been obscure throughout his youth, is
likely to become happier if his talent wins recognition. Nor do I deny
that money, up to a certain point, is very capable of increasing
happiness; beyond that point, I do not think it does so. What I do
maintain is that success can only be one ingredient in happiness, and
is too dearly purchased if all the other ingredients have been
sacrificed to obtain it.

LIFE INSURANCE FOR CHILDREN?
Of course you have life insurance for yourself, maybe even for your wife.
But life insurance for your children? What's the point?
Simply this: your kids won't be kids forever, and when they enter young adulthood they're going to need all the financial muscle they can muster.
A life insurance policy begun in childhood can help secure student loans, personal loans, mortgages- even business loans.
As well as providing basic financial security in the event of death.
And the premiums never go up.
At the Juvenile Life, we've been insuring young lives and assuring future since 1847.

Once my mother and grandmother, horrified by a particularly sensational picture on the cover of one of my books, told me to tear it up.
I could not bear to do this, so I hid it under a loose board in my grandmother's summer-house, where it stayed for two or three years, and received many secret and guilty readings it would never have had otherwise: for my father was right on the other point too.
I had grown out of my taste for highwayman, and gone on the other books.

My follow-up, Mr. Fisher, is this--
I understand that having undocumented workers living in the US costs money
and it's a problem we have to do something about,
but shouldn't it be a point of pride for Americans
that others are willing to uproot their families just to come here?

The follow-up was "How much do they cost?"
But, yes, it is a point of pride that people wanna come to America

And I'm sure that's what's behind the emotion and the vitriol--
Americans hate it when people don't fill out the proper paperwork.

But if so, I think it deserves a follow-up.
We're not going to get the debate if we're mocking their candidates.
The whole point of the new debate format
is to compel the candidates to tell the truth
and make them responsible for their own rhetoric

[John's Diary]
It was passed the rush hour and they must have increased the
train intervals. It would take much longer than usual to get
to the theater, I thought. Shit! The theater was just a stop
away. What a day! Wasted time and money for nothing! At this
point I began to think that I should have tried running to
the theater. After about 10 minutes, I heard the next train
pulling in. People didn't bother to line up and stormed
towards the train. The PA system cranked out a warning to get
on the train in an orderly fashion, but that didn't prevent
the fat lady behind me from jumping the line and forcing her
way through the crowd.
1. It was passed the rush hour:
지났다고 할 때 It is passed ~를 씁니다.
2. They must have increased the train intervals: Train
She must have missed the train, or she should be here by now.
3. It would take much longer than usual: 여기서 would를 쓴
Will에도 추정의
4. Get to the theater: 도착하다는 arrive를 흔히 쓰지만,
When you get there, please call me.
5. For nothing:
Good for nothing이라는
You're good for nothing.
pull in한다고 합니다.
7. Didn't bother to line up:
Please, don't bother. It's too much of a hassle.
8. Stormed towards the train: Storm
The loan sharks stormed into my office.
9. The PA system cranked out a warning: PA는 public
Crank it up이라는 말도 잘 쓰는 데요.
10. Jumping the line:
Jump the gun이라는 말도
11. Force one's way through: 동사 + one's way + 전치사 형태는
He forced his way through the crowd.
He elbowed his way into the bus.
He felt his way out of the room.
She kept up the relationship with them.
그렇게 관계를 유지하는걸 keep up the relationship (with someone)이라고 합니다.
그냥 keep up with someone만 써도 같은 뜻이예요.
They've kept up with each other even as they broke up.
I try to keep up the relationship with those I met when I
worked as a teaching student.

[John's Diary]
When will the weatherman say something reliable? Maybe, not
in this millennium. Partly cloudy with occasional rain? Then
what'd you call that pouring rain out the window? Raining
adds to the traffic congestion; but I had to drive anyway to
score some brownie points with Jill. After making sure the
gas was turned off and all the windows were locked, I went
out the porch door, locked it, and went down to the basement
parking lot. There are so many cars in the lot these days
that it's tough to find a parking space. Some thoughtless
bastards park their cars however they like, without any
consideration for others. Some scumbags even take up two
parking spaces or double park.
2. Something reliable:
Nothing
special 처럼요.
Not in this millenuim은,
4. Partly cloudy and occasional rain:
5. What do you call… :
Did you say you have no money on you? Then what do you call
this in your pocket? A roll of paper?
I'll pour you another cup of tea. Just relax.
Thousands of people poured out of the burning theater.
The rain has been pouring down for days!
7. Add to the traffic congestion:
You explanation only adds to my confusion!
9. Score brownie points with someone:
Brownie
John wouldn't rat on his friends just to earn some brownie
points with his teacher!
10. Make sure:
Make sure he's dead.
12. Basement parking lot: 지하 주차장. 주차 공간은 parking
space라고 합니다.
13. In the lot: lot
14. So many cars that - : 문법 배울 때 많이 봤던 so - that
I was so angry that I couldn't sleep.
16. However they like: 우리 말에서도 "지 맘대로 - 한다라고
You can't do everything the way you like.
John always wants to have his way.
17. Scumbags: scum
18. Take up something: take up은 차지해 버리다라는 뜻입니다.
You just can't take up two lanes!
19. Double park:
Double parking

In the case of blue-chip companies, it can rebound at any time when the market picks up, so it can also be a good strategy to catch the timing of low-point purchases.

Authorities have also come up with a belated improvement plan due to the major accident of the nation's largest private equity fund operator, but many point out that it is "a belated prescription without remorse."

As they can only tell up to a point that the reason for the stagnated growth rate is weakened sentiment due to trade disputes between the US and China, it is hard to affirm whether it is a crisis or recession.

Some point out that excessive vitamin D intake can cause hypercalcemia, but 10,000 IU per day is unlikely to be a problem, and up to 100,000 IU is fine.

* 1 foot (1피트) : 30 centimeters (30 센치미터)

* eight-block : '여덟 블록'을 뜻하는데 1 블록을 계산
GET THE POINT?
