Secondly, we can save money by not having to keep the parts at the warehouse.

British novels; English novels
2) 200페이지 정도의: with about 200 pages
3) 출판사: a publisher

1) 깊이 감동해서: with reverence; with a deep sense of gratitude
2) 인식하다: accept; face
→ 「둘도 없는」은 말 그대로는 irreplaceable이지만, most precious; more valuable than any thing else처럼 번역하는 것이 좋을 것이다.
Don't slight your precious life. You should not put your very existence in danger.
Minho was their dearest child.
He is a treasure to the teaching staff of our university.
I cannot help reconsidering what happiness is.
ANS 1) For each one of us, life is more precious than anything else. So
I think it is very important that we should appreciate this again and accept our life with reverence.
ANS 2) The life of each one of us is extremely precious. Therefore, in my opinion t is very important for us to re-appreciate this and face our life with a deep sense of gratitude.

Everybody would like to make a trip to some distant stars in the space as well as into the future and past.
But we know that we could not make such a trip by means of an ordinary vehicle.
It would take thousands of years to reach the nearest star ever at the speed of millions of immensity of the space by all means.
That is to say, we must dash through the space by means of some mysterious method of transportation.
But, to achieve this exploit we should know much more than we do now about space and time.
Do we really know what space is? Probably the answer is "No". It is fortunate, however, that we can now control the space.

→ 어떻게 부르면 좋을지 망설이다: have a hard time deciding what to call the occasion
→ …라고 부르는 것도 알맞지 않다: nor is it properly called~
Chusok deeply rooted in the culture of Korea; Chusok with a special importance; have a remarkable significance
(ANS) Because there are so many levels of meaning to Chusok, foreigners often have a hard time deciding what to call the occasion. It is not the same as Thanksgiving celebrations, though it includes the thanks for the harvest and the family gathering and eating. Nor is Chusok properly called an autumn moon festival, for the more important meaning to Koreans is to be found in the veneration of the family ancestors. Probably the most important thing about Chusok today is its very Koreanness. At a time when the people of this country are deeply concerned to discover and affirm their true national identity, events with a long history in the culture of Korea a special importance.

→ 종지부를 찍다: 끝내다 put an and to~ ; finish~ ; come to an end
→ 공무원으로서 새 출발을 하다: embark on a career as a civil servant; start one's career as a public servant; start to work as a public servant.
(ANS) After his four years at university have come to an end this spring, he is going to embark on a career as a civil servant.

→ …가 도래함으로써: with the advent of~; with the emergence of~
→ 식사유형: the dietary pattern
→ 식료품점에 가면 쉽게 살 수 있는 인스탄트 식품: instant food items that are readily available in groceries
But as the food culture changes radically,…/ But in the wake of the drastic change in the food culture,…
→ …의 대량소비를 기화로: taking advantage of the mass consumption of~
→ 차제에: at this juncture; under/ in these circumstances
→ 전면적인 행정감사: an all-out administrative inspection; a nationwide investigation
→ 뿌리뽑다: root out
(ANS) The dietary pattern in our country has largely changed nowadays with the advent of an era of instant food. Many of traditional dishes have been replaced by instant food items that are readily available in groceries. In industrial societies, such a phenomenon is inevitable, since fast food makes it possible for busy hardworking people to save time and energy.
But in the wake of such a drastic change, some immoral food producers have been producing unwholesome food items potentially harmful to the health of consumers, taking advantage of the mass consumption of instant food. Under these circumstances it is more than appropriate that the public health authorities should have conducted an all-out inspection to root out substandard food.

A, B and C are among the main factors.
→ …에 우선하다: take have (the) precedence of over~
The individualism has caused the family to disintegrate로 할 수 있고, 그밖에 Because of this individualism, the family is in the danger of disintegration.
(ANS) Man is the product of his environments, say the psychologists. Parents, neighbourhood, and school are among the main factors which have a direct impact on shaping the individual's behavior and attitude toward the world. Of all these factors the family is most important. Today the family is being challenged by individualism in which the individual has the precedence over the family; because of the individualism the family is in danger of disintegration.

→ 여러 차례 방문하다: pay numerous visit to
→ 합영법: joint ventures law
→ …은 중국의 그것을 본뜬 것이 분명하다: be obviously an imitation of that of China; be apparently patterned after that of China
→ 얼마간: in some measure; to some extent
→ 새로운 경제해결책을 찾기 위한 노력을 반영하다: reflect the groping for new economic solutions
→ 그들이 얻기를 바라고 있을 뿐만 아니라 필요로 하는: …that it(North Korea) hopes for and needs(hope는 명사로 쓰일 때는 그 다음에 of~가 오고, 동사로 쓰일 때는 for~가 온다.
(ANS) There are indications that North Korea has shown an interest in China a new economic policies. North Korean officials have paid numerous visits, for example, to China's free trade zones, and North Korea's new joint ventures law is apparently patterned after that of China. The North's interest in economic talks with the ROK, which is unprecedented, reflects in some measure this groping for new economic solutions. The North may believe that by improving relations with the South, at least to some degree, it may be able to persuade Western nations to provide the technology, trade and investment that it hopes for and needs.

→ ~하기로 돼 있다: be supposed (또는 expected) to ~ 또는 expect라는 동사면 됩니다.
(ANS 1) Expecting several guests this evening, my wife is busy preparing dinner in he kitchen.
(ANS 2) Since several guests are supposed to come to dinner this evening, my
wife is busily preparing dinner for them.

→ 이와 같은 추세: this trend; this change of wind ex) 한국 여론의 추세는 그 정책에 대해서 반대적이다.(Korean public opinion is running against the policy.)
→ 학계: the academic circle
→ …을 고수하다: stick to
(ANS) This change of wind has all taken place within the academic circle, affecting little those who constitute the bulk of English teachers. The bulk of English teachers still stick to the grammar-translation method, teaching English in the way English was taught twenty or thirty years ago.

→ 오늘의 지도자: a leader (of) today; a boss of (in) modern times
→ 속속들이 알다; 철저히 알다: have a thorough knowledge; know thoroughly
→ 빈틈없이 감독하다: have vigilant supervisory power; exercise strict supervision
→ 판단하다: make decisions
→ 개입하다: get involved
→ 전체를 지휘하다: direct the work as a whole; command the whole work
(ANS) A leader today must have a thorough knowledge of his own job in every possible field and have vigilant supervisory power.
