stockholder 주주

A stock is a share or part of a company.
주식은 회사의 일부분이다.
If a company needs money, it may take a loan from the bank.
어떤 회사가 돈이 필요하면 은행으로부터 대출을 받을 수 있다.
It may sell bond, or it may sell some stock.
또 회사채를 판매하거나 어느 정도의 주식을 판매할 수도 있다.
In other words, the company sells a part of itself.
다시 말해서 그 회사는 회사의 일부분을 파는 것이다.

The money that the company earns for itself is called a profit, and the stockholder also earns some profit.

Because payments of the principle and interest must be made on time
whether or not the company has been earning a profit, bonds are
considered a safe investment over a long period of time. Stocks, on the
other hand, carry more risk as they are influenced by the conditions of
the economy, but often pay a higher rate of interest. Stockholders
provide the money invested in a business and have a say in making
business decisions and a share of the profits. However, they must also
take part in the losses and cannot receive any dividends until the money
owed to the bondholders has been paid off.
